    		Curses and Blessings
    
    This is the title of a book, author unknown, that is an excellent
    study of curses and blessings, based on the Biblical view of them,
    including on how they extend thru generations, and on how to break 
    them. 
    
    I would think it would be available in most book stores -- it is a 
    book that has been out for at least 3 or 4 years now, maybe more...

It's by Derek Prince.  Originally available on tape as a couple of sermons
with similar name, which are available through Anchor recordings over here
- I see you're at Basingstoke). 

I got the book locally a year or two back.

    This book "blessings and curses" is by Derek(sp) Prince.and it is very
    practical.
    
    

    Also Marilyn Hickey has an excellent tape series on curses.
    Unfortunately I don't know that much about it as my chiropractor loaned
    it to me. It was excellent because she traced through history showing
    the impact (curses) of sins on the Jewish leaders lives and how only the
    blood (in the OT situation it was turning back to a life with God) of
    Yeshua and walking with him can free us from it. If you want to get

Another is "The Believer's guide to Spiritual Warfare" by Tom White.  It's not 
specifically about curses, but it does deal with them as part of warfare.  I 
highly recommend the book.

    Remember to understand and claim Galatians 3:13, that Christ redeemed
    us from the curse of the law (all curses) by becoming that curse for
    us and taking it upon His own body.  This is the cure, whether they be
    "legally" handed down from generation to generation or they be spoken
    over us.
    
    I can first-hand attest to the redeeming power of Jesus taking on a
    passed-down curse over me and breaking it.
    
     

Numbers 22
  3 And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were
  many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of
  Israel.

  we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the
  land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he
  whom thou cursest is cursed.

  12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them;
  thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.

  17 For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will
  do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray
  thee, curse me this people.
  18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of
  Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and
  gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do
  less or more.

    The Rebeca Brown books (there are three) are good for helping you find
    all sorts of things that maybe giving Satan "legal ground " into your
    life. The third one which I have started but forget the name at the
    moment deals with all sorts of whichcraft stuff and how to defeat it.
    Remember no matter what, spirits will connect with an object in your
    possesion, so check all things you might find suspect. I found a piggy
    bank in my home with a spirit attached (it was made by pagans in
    Central America).

    I read the book.  It was very interesting and unbelieveable to me.  I
    never did decide if I believed it was true.  She certainly did.  So, I
    had to say she was either a liar, mentally ill or telling the truth.  I
    still don't know what to think.

An interesting question was brought up in Bible study yesterday, and I think
addressed elsewhere in this conference though not directly.

The person asked whether God blessed those he loved or did he bless all
people.  I was all the more impressed by how our study leader answered,
and I'll try to convey it adequately, though perhaps not as articulate
as he did.

He said that all people receive blessings from God.  In fact, life is
a blessing we have all received from God.  But the very blessing becomes
a curse to anyone who is in rebellion to God.  To the person in harmony
with God, life is a blessing; to others a curse.

Therefore the same things are given to the just and the unjust, and they
can be a blessing or a curse.  (Now be careful how you define blessing and
curse, for we all know that happiness and contentment are not defined by
wealth, fame or power, but wealth, fame, and power can coexist with
the blessing when one is in the center of God's will.  Outside of
God's will, these "blessings" can become weights, shortening, stifling,
and maybe even snuffing out life.

We shall enjoy the eternal blessing of life in heaven, or rue the eternal
curse of life in torment in hell.

Self examination:  what have I and what am I that is a blessing and is a
curse upon my spiritual welfare?
