1979.0. "Alphastation 255/233 losing time..." by ROMTSS::MATTACCHIONE () Tue May 20 1997 14:19

Hi,
I have a problem similar to topic 1640 on this conference.
An alphastation 255/233 running Dec Unix 4.0a lose 2 minutes in a day.

This problem don't exist on another alphastation 255/233 with same
operating system and version.

Which should be a possible cause for this behaviour ?

Thanks Gabriele

1979.1Same Answer As 1640 -- Ask UNIXXDELTA::HOFFMANSteve, OpenVMS EngineeringTue May 20 1997 18:317
   The answer given in 1640 still applies -- anything that might cause
   the system to miss clock ticks would cause a time loss. The OS folks
   will be able to give you a better idea of just what can do this -- on
   OpenVMS, this can be memory errors or similar problems, or heavily-used
   high-IPL software.

    Try asking in the TURRIS::DIGITAL_UNIX conference, maybe as a reply to
    note 9271 (Astn 255/300 losing system time). As always, providing
    details about the hardware configuration and software revisions will
    increase your chances of getting a fast, informed answer.
