818.0. "walleye in mass" by SCOMAN::KERSWELL () Thu Jul 28 1988 17:00

    Does anyone know of any pond's / lakes in mass that have walleye
    I went fishing out in Auburn a couple week's back with a native
    of auburn and he was telling me that way back one time or another
    that the place was stocked with walleye's. I've never heard of
    them being so local. has anyone else?

    The Conn. River, Northampton to Smiths' Ferry is reputed to have
    walleyes. Although Lake Chauncey in Westboro was once stocked years
    ago, an occasional old slow-growing walleye is still pulled out.

    Walleye's in Mass can be found at Barton's Cove, Turners Falls Ma.
    which is the Conneticit River. RT2 west of Orange mass. If you have
    a boat there is 17 miles of navagatible river. I have found most
    of the walleye just shy of the dam.
