Subj: Cool idea. Glad I got to see it.
Donmac -
"THE ALBUM" showed two VERY OBVIOUS things.
1) TBDW was fishless in his pictures as usual :-)
2) The 'lEdGeND of the lost' found a good buy on plastic Bass
replicas. (nice matching green shirts by the way, are they
engaged?)
> The white out I put on Waters face should rub off. 8^)
Good album, but where is the picure of my parter Juan Corozon'
hurling, launching and spewing beer and blackberry brandy @ Monofish?
ps; who has the 1800fs Tracker? Good taste man!

Subj: OZARK Trip Report. Beaver Lake, Bass Pro Shops. Did someone say HOEDOWN!
Trip Report: * Beaver Lake, Eureka Springs Arkansas
* Visit to Bass Pro Shops, Springfield, Mo.
Beaver Lake was by far the cleanest and most spectacular lake I
have ever fished or boated on. The only others that even compared were
some Canadian waters I've fished. Beaver has 483 miles of shoreline and is
31,000 acres!! Get out the compass eh. A wide range of islands and wildlife
abound and I saw very little water traffic (lake size perhaps?). The lake
is in the hundreds of feet deep. Lots of coves, standing timber, cliffs-
you pick the structure, it's there.
The primary game fish are large & smallmouth Bass, and Striped Bass.
The usual panfish, perch & some very large catfish are available. Striped
Bass run huge, 40 -50lbs. Largemouth Bass have exceeded the 17lb range. Plenty
of trout as well. A well rounded fishery.
I put in on the Dam site of the Lake. The Dam feeds the White
River which I understand is a premier Trout river with large browns.
While on the Lake I have NEVER seen so many fish on a depth finder.
Hanging on sunken islands, laying in a flooded town beneath the Lake,
virtually everywhere. As I understand it, Bull Shoals Lake in Mo.
dumps into Table Rock Lake in Mo., which in turns dumps into Beaver
Lake In Arkansas, which feeds the White river. (Table Rock Lake was
also quite impressive). The Lake is formed by the Dam of the White
River.
Fish Report- Caught lots of largemouth 2-5lb but not the trophy I
was after. Also caught some small (3lb) stripers which fought like
10lb fish. I can only say, I'm glad I have 20 acres on the Lake and
can't wait to build there some day. Besides that, my folks own the
local tavern! If anyone wants more info on "BEAVER" let me know through
vax mail or Donmac. If things go right, I'll be running that tavern
some day & fishing the rest of my life away.
Yup NIGHTCRAWLER~~~~~ YOUR OZARK CONNECTION.
Bass Pro Shops Report: 8^)
It was like an Opium Den. Everyone is dazed walking around with a
stupid smile on their face. It was a religious experience. I obtained
Nirvana. I was one with my credit card to the tune of 300 big ones.
We spent the better part of the day there. Hats, microlite bionic
blades, lures, t-shirts, cups, UL-reel, more tackle I did not need but
HAD to have. It was a life's goal completed going there. The aquarium
were great & I especially liked the antique lure, rod & reel
collection. The restaurants & fast food places sold beer which only
made you go into a deeper trance and spend more money. IT WAS GREAT.
Also passed right by the TRACKER MARINE factory.
On the way back to my folks place in Eureka Springs Ark. we also
visited BIG CEDAR LODGE. (the place advertised in the bass pro
catalog). What a fantastic resort tailored to fishermen/women. Lodging
was expensive as I recall but you could rent cabins and share with
another family.
Can't wait till the next trip and if you plan a visit
to THE OZARKS let me know. I might even steer you to some free beers.
Beautiful country the Ozarks, with great water and lots of FISH.
NIGHTCRAWLER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
