| Joel, welcome to the sport. You've started in the right place!
Please check some of the earlier notes on getting started for
some information. Sorry I can't help you on tutoring; I live in
Colorado, and besides, could use a lot of teaching myself.
My plane is an Eaglet. I ran into a problem in building it and
would suggest the following modification. Move the firewall a
quarter inch forward, and cut out the hole in the bulkhead at the
windsheld former so you can get your fuel tank in. As it stands,
its VERY tight. I had to butcher my nose to get the fuel tank
into the plane. You will not move the motor forward by this
because you will make up for that quarter inch by cutting off the
back of the motor plate. Also, plan from the start to run
pressure in the tank. If you're really brave, throw out the
firewall and put in another one made of 1/8 ply, but forward.
Then use one of the standard mounts to bolt up to that firewall.
That's what I will do when I rebuild the plane.

| Welcome to the sport Joel. I too have an Eaglet 50 and I must say
I am very pleased with it! It's a great trainer, and can take very
hard landings..... ie. crashes! I don't know what size engine
you plan on using, but I would recommend at least a .20-.25. I
have a OS MAX .25 on mine, and the extra power is great to have.
I tried a .15 on it and you just couldn't do anything with it.
Again, welcome aboard, and good luck.
