115.0. "Game Supper?" by VELVET::GATH () Thu Jan 14 1988 17:28

In the past I have tried to get us together similar
to a shootin-fest as held in firearms notes file.

I was unsuccessful and only a fool would keep trying but here
is my latest idea.

Who's in favor of having a Game Supper?

My proposal is that we contact a local club and request
the facility for the day. I believe this could be arranged
here in Merrimack but if there is enough demand and a
better place to hold it ,great.

Lets generate some ideas and post them here,.

Date?
Place?
Time?
Entertainment?

This and many other ideas to be determined by you.

    Great idea!

I think we should have it in Bellevue Washington at the Kenmore
Gun Club. How about the Saturday after the Super Bowl?

    5:00 PM late enough?

For entertainment we can buy some live pheasants and release them.
It is helping our own cause because we will be proliferating the
    dwindling pheasant population.

I can hear the jokes about the pheasants as they fly away unscathed!

    Brett.

    	Bear,
I think it would work best as a potluck. For entertainment
could show some hunting movie or have someone come in and talk
about wildlife management or some other topic of interest.
If we used a club that someone was a member of, it would cost
less to rent it ( or possibly free? ). Even a weeknight might
    	work.

Sounds great!! I can get a Club (Lunenburg Sportsman, Lunenburg,
MA).... I agree pot-luck would be the way to go....

Let's see if we can get this thing off the ground?? I'll help
    in any way I can...

I sure most of you folks can eat/contribute??

Regarding .3, I'm from Townsend, MA. and the Lunenburg Gun Club
sounds great to me. I was fortunate enough to get 3 deer in two
states this year so count me in for some venison! If the ice fishing
holds out perhaps I might be able to provide some fish as well.

I can provide a woodcock dish. For entertainment, I've acquired a
series from British Television called "Jack's Game"; its about all
the different types of hunting and shooting done in the UK.

When more definite plans are given (i.e., where and when) I'll be
able to let you know if we (my husband and myself) can attend. We
won't be able to provide a game dish, but anything else I would
    be willing to provide.

115.9C'mon, show up!BRETT::HELSELWed Jan 20 1988 22:0226
    Bear,

    I can't believe more people haven't replied.

In my opinion, the moderator ought to set up a
proxy list for this file including only those
that show up for the dinner or have a good excuse.

You read about all these Nimrods that got 7 deer
in 10 states but don't offer to come to the dinner
while 1 generous sole is even willing to sacrifice
    his Woodcock for the cause!

Come on people, take a chance on having a good time.
I wish I could go but 3,000 miles is just too far even if
United *is* giving triple bonus mileage.

Bear, pick a date on a Saturday night in the totally
boring month of February, when absolutely nothing is
going on in New England, people will show up. C'mon
you FFL's...this is a chance to sell guns.

Bear is donating his time....don't make him look
bad (he looks bad enough already) :-)

    Brett.

I'm in. I can contribute a sea duck dish. (It's not fishy.)

For entertainment, if anyone's interested I could show my
upland bird and waterfowl hunting slides.

The Lunnenburg Sportsman Club would be convenient for me.

If we can't get enough interest in this supper, a good
alternative might be to meet for a game lunch and a slide
show at some centrally located DEC conference room. He in
Littleton, we often have our lunch in a conference room while
watching someone's vacation slides. It's standing room
only for some of the more exotic vacations.

    woods).
We filled our bag at "Hedgerow Hunting Preserve" last month,

I'm in!! I also live in Lunenburg. Although I struck out for geese
in Maryland this week, I have some goose, pheasant, sea duck and
venison for the cause. I may need a sea duck recipe though.

I could rent some of the 3m outdoor series tapes locally. What type
of equipment is there if any.

Lunenburg is an archery club right? Might we be able to use the
    facilities (like the indoor range)?

    Sounds great.

As the originator of this note I am glad to see it moving along.

I also think that Lunenburg sportsman club is idealy suited because
it is centrally located for most of us.

This is to be your ( the notes file ) event. It will be as
small or as large as we want it.

Keep the ideas coming and I really appreciate all the generous
    offers.

I would like to donate some Stuffed Geese. so there will
be stuffing and goose to eat.

Also I will try and get some moose. ( I know some one who
has moose and someone who has elk ) I will not make any
promises but at least I can ask.

If I am successful at accuiring these meats I will ask
some one to volinteer to cook it.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Now where is the Salem plant? I thought surely you gentlemen
would contribute to suceess of this exciting event.

Also if any one who lives really far away is thinking of purhaps
trying to come I would also like to make available my home
if you will need a place to stay.

I know it does seem a bit much but if you live in Vermont
or Maine or even in Western Mass and it is a little too
much to drive in one day you are welcome to stay at
my house and return home the next day.

    Bear,
How did you know I make bread?? My humble opinion is that my
homemade bread is great!!! What'll it be?? White, wheat, rye,
oatmeal.... russian dark bread (haven't tried this one yet, but
it looks good). Just let me know what kind (I could do a couple
of each) and how many loaves. Try and give me ample warning as it
takes some time to make bread. Also, the Lunenburg Club is a great
location for me since I live in Townsend. I'm looking forward to
this since I've never been to one and my husband's mouth watered

115.32How this?CUERVO::GATHTue Feb 02 1988 15:1536
Here is the tentative proposal:

Hunting Notes File very first Game Supper.

Where: Horseshoe Fish and Game Club.
Cost: 25.00
When: March 27,1988

Horseshoe Fish and Game Club is located in Merrimack N.H.
It is located 1 mile from the DEC Merrimack Facility.
Directions will be posted soon.

Please Make note that there is a club in Nashua call Horse Pond
Fish and Game club . So please do not confuse the two.

The easiest way to get there is to take exit 8 off the Everett
Turnpike ( sometimes called route 3 ) . Follow continental
blvd. for approx. 1 3/4 miles and take a right on Greens
pond road. ( dirt road ) proceed aprox . 3/4 mile and
after you go buy Green Pond our club house is located
just past the pond on a hill overlooking the pond.

I will be requesting the use of the club at the next board
meeting feb 23

Please make a statement of intent so that we can plan on a good
time.

The deciding factor that has facilitated a switch from N Lemonster
to Horseshoe Fish and Game club is I beleive the difference
    between 75.00 and 25.00.

I sincerely hope you can all make it.

    				Thankyou all.

Actually I didn't do to much but alot of talking it up

Mike Aho secured the Fish and Game club.

What we did last year was have everyone prepair there
favorite dish and then we esentially had a "Game POT luck
    Supper"

What we need to decide is When , Month,day,1989

Where? ( does not have to be at the same
                                      place)

    			      Who can secure what club?

Then we will start who coming what will you be bringing.
It does not matter that you may have not any game left
or purhaps you didn't get out as much as you would like
too. Thats o'k, There are a lot of other things that can be brought
that make a meal complete such as bread, salad, vegtables, etc.

Everone is welcome from the expert to novice.

I would also like to if posible combine this with some kind of
    activity.

Purhaps, some trap, skeet, or sporting clays. Purhaps some
dog demonstrations or compitions. ( Too bad Willie lives so far
away , maybe willie would like to go up against Skeet)?

If we could maybe a running deer? or just a turkey shoot?

I tend to think too big but I would like to make a day
    of it.

115.67Start planning now.... my $.02KAYGEE::SAMIAMWhere to now ???Wed Dec 14 1988 18:4339
>> What we did last year was have everyone prepair there
>> favorite dish and then we esentially had a "Game POT luck
>> Supper"

And it worked out great !!! I think we should do the same
      this year :-)

>> What we need to decide is When , Month,day,1989
>>
>> Where? ( does not have to be at the same place)
>>
>> Who can secure what club?

If we decide on a date (the March timeframe is good) far enough
in advance, we should be able to secure it at 'where-ever' without
too much problem (remember last year we procrastinated so long we
had to take the dates that were available).
And with more advance notice, maybe more folks will be able to attend.

>> Everyone is welcome from the expert to novice.

      The more, the merrier !!!!!!!!

>> I would also like to if posible combine this with some kind of activity.
>> Purhaps, some trap, skeet, or sporting clays. Purhaps some dog
>> demonstrations or compitions.

If we were to plan this far enough in advance, we could possibly get
enough of a crowd to do some shooting or something.....
HOWEVER if the interest is there and we decide to do some shooting,
the Lunenburg Sportsman's Club doesn't have the range facilities....
but the No. Leominster R & G ( just down the road a piece) does....
and guess who is a member there ??

Hello Mike Aho ;-) Are you game (minor pun) to set up another supper ?
    I'll help out.

    	Well let's start this again:

NEW DATE: 4/1/89 (This is about the only free date at Lunenburg)

I need to know the following:

    		1) What you can bring
    		2) Will you be bringing a guest
    		3) Are you interested in Shooting in the Afternoon (1:00
    - 'til)? (Skeet/Trap)
    		4) If the decision is to shoot. The per round cost at
No. Leominster is $2.50/nonmembers. (25 shots)

    		5) This supper is NOT limited to hunters ONLY, If you'd
like to meet some of the fellow READERS of the HUNTING NOTESFILES
this is YOUR OPPURTUNITY (sp?). What we are planning is just a FUN
DAY OUT and why shouldn't it be April Fool's Day??

There will be a "nominal charge" for the Lunenburg Club
which I will communicate as I have "firmed-up" the details.

This is our chance to get out and meet the noter's

Last year was huge success and it should be a great time.

We need some entertainment so I am going to see what I
can get on Alaska. Being that most people included
alaska as one of there "Dream Hunts"

I wasn't too sucessful this year in terms of game brought
to the table but I am sure I can find something.

If you would like to do something for the group please
by all means volinteer. What ever your experteese (sp )
    might be.

Last year we had one happy noter ( this is the same as a happy
camper ) practicing turkey calling. Later that year we were
please to here that all the hard work really paid off.

Purhaps someone could show us some dog training techniques.

At any rate its your Dinner and it can be what ever we want it to
    be.

    Bear

There is a lot of non Game items that is needed so if you
are not a hunter or for some reason you couldn't find the
time to get out there is still plenty of non Game items that
need to be brought to make this successful.

    Hello everyone,

I sent a note off to Uncle Mike last week telling him I'd be
coming to the game supper and asked what he could use out of the
following dishes: Apple pie, Blueberry pie, Mincemeat pie, Venison
Quiche (is that a contradiction in terms? :-)), Venison chili,
Venison Lasagna, or Venison pot pie. Being a man of great
organizational skill and a man of few words he answered quite simply,
YES. A man after my own heart errr stomach. :-) But, sorry as I can
be I don't think I'll have time to make all of these and have them
fresh (and uneaten) within a couple of days of the supper. Sooo,
if all of those planning on attending would send me a note on the
tube as to what they preferred (I believe the chilli is allready
spoken for) by picking one dessert dish and one meat dish I'll be
more than happy to make those dishes (majority rules). Send mail to
    KRAPPA::KEYWORTH or WFOOFF::KEYWORTH.

Wow !!!! I hope I'm gonna get LOTS OF HELP setting THIS one
    UP????????????????

Lunenburg Club has a pond which could be used for demo's if
need be. HOWEVER since I have asked for Lunenburg from 6:00PM
    	- 'til and since the pond is located adjacent to the RIFLE
range this would need the rifle range to be CLOSED for the day,
NOW we're asking for a LITTLE more from the membership of the
club than just using the Clubhouse...

No. Leominster "had" a pond but it has been drained
due to a problem with the dam....

    		BUT It's YOUR PARTY !!! I don't think I can get
Lunenburg to close the rifle range for us though. So the pond
at No. Leominster is out unless nobody is using the range when
you want to run the "Demo"....

Now, seems as if we have "volunteers" (Bear & Linda)
to coordinate a "dog demo"!! Since you folks can get to me
on your ideas/plans and we'll TRY to get them to "Work"...

115.84Reflections on the 2nd Annual Game Supper...TARKIN::AHOThe Capt'n...Mon Apr 03 1989 15:5569

Well the game supper is only a memory now, but WHAT a MEMORY !!

The food was EXCELLENT!!! I'd like to thank all that
attended and donated their game. I'd also like to thank everyone
that brought the "non-game" items as they were just as IMPORTANT
as the game dishes AND JUST AS DELICIOUS!! (Especially Linda's
	"Homemade" pie ;-);-))
For all you folks that couldn't/wouldn't/didn't come you missed
a FINE MEAL and a SUPER Bench Demo by Jack Schneider
(Thanks again Jack!!) also it was GREAT to put "Faces" to the
names that we "associate" with on the "tube". I hope everyone
else had a good time? (I did notice a couple of comments in the
	"Receipe" Topic)[Don't worry I'll post my receipie(s)].

I hope I can remember it all so please bear with me. The
following is the "menu" (No particular order)

Appetizers: Pheasant chunks, Smoked Bluefish, Venison
				liver wrapped in bacon, Clam/Shrimp
				chowder, Homemade rolls/bread

Main Dishes: Bear roast with Blueberry wine gravy
			     Roast Boar with gravy
			     Venison Pot Pie
			     Venison Stew
			     Duck cassarole
			     Venison Chile
			     Antelope with gravy and noodles
			     Pheasant ala Gath

		Salads: Green Salad
			     Macaroni Salad

Desserts: Cupcakes, Cookies, Chocolate Cake, Assorted
Pies (I was SO stuffed I only had one type
[Mincemeat], so I wasn't sure what other types
			     were there)

I hope that the THIRD ANNUAL GAME SUPPER will be BIGGER
and BETTER than this year and I hope more folks attend !!!! We've
already started to "gather" ideas for "Demo(s)", etc....

I'd also like to say that I'm sorry that I didn't introduce
our "Bartender" Jim Duffy as he's also a DECCIE.. Sorry Jim, Thanks
for helping. I'd also like to thank all the folks that helped
"organize" Dave Nelson, Bill Jollymore, and Richard (Bear) Gath and
thanks for doing the dishes Dave !! I'm also sorry that Guy Fisher
was ill and couldn't attend, but THANKS FOR THE ANTELOPE GUY, IT
WAS DELICIOUS ;-) !! I'd also like to thank Steve Drumm for bringing
the mounted Tom Turkey (Very Impressive)....

I hope I didn't "miss" anything? If so, I'm sorry and it wasn't
intentional. With the amount of food that was there we could
have EASILY fed another 10-15 people. HINT, HINT, HINT, HINT!!!

				See ya'll next year,

I want to thank everyone that came to the game supper this
    year.

I am pleased to say that much of this years success was attributed
    to some new blood.

I particularly want to thank Jack for the wonderful dog
    demonstration.

I want to thank Mike for making most of the arrangements
and to his unofficial committee that I know gave him a hand.

I also really enjoyed the video on semi Automatic controversy
that was put out by NRA.

I want to thank all of you that had such a long drive.

Also to everyone who cooked this year food. I have been to many
game suppers and I would say that this years was by far the
best Supper and best food I have ever had the pleasure of
    eating.

    Thankyou all.
    Bear

    P.S.

We are already begining to make plans for next year.

There are some suggestions to put on a high power rifle demo.
I beleive Steve Drumm ( The turkey slayer ) has volinteered.

Also I heard another suggestion that we might consider
having the receipe available at the supper. This idea was
to have some cards or sheets sitting next to the dish
so that when we helped ourselves to the food we could also
pick up a copy of the receipe .

115.86Springers are Best!VELVET::GATHMon Apr 03 1989 16:1120
I almost forgot. It was also confirmed this year that

Springer Spaniels are better at bringing home the birds

because I don't think there was one solidtary Dish that

was brought to hand by a LAB....

Rumor has it that the owners of LABS can't shoot.

I argued that this was untrue but it was futal because I

so out numbered. I only wished that some one was there

that could have helped in this arguement.

Oh well there will always be next year.

    Mike,

Bear had mentioned this to me a while back, and I'd like to get
involved. My preference would be Apr.14, but I probably could make most
    of the other dates mentioned.

I spoke to a few friends about it also(Neal Wynne, and Wayne Field) and
they too are interested. Wayne mentioned that he intended to shoot a
registered event on Apr. 28th, and was suprised that you offered that as
one of the dates, as he thought you might be shooting on the 28th also.

I have a venison roast to offer for the meal. Keep us posted.

115.94Demo's???WFOVX5::KEYWORTHTue Jan 30 1990 14:489
Hey Mike, is there a range there, where we could take Drumm
up on his offer to do a High Power Demo? Or maybe open the doors
up for some Archery practice or some other kind of demo. Maybe Drumm
could show us the great instinctive archery shot that he got his
deer with this last fall by shooting an Apple off of Bears head? ;^)
I thought the demo we had last year was great. Anyone else have
    any ideas?

115.95Here's the way I see it...TARKIN::AHOSkeet addict...Tue Jan 30 1990 15:4736

The way I see the Game supper going is:

Lunenburg Club has a range where Steve Drumm can do his
High Power Rifle demo... I would presume that around 3:30 ish
this could be started, Since I'll be at a registered Skeet Shoot
(I think) I will not be attending the demo. After the demo we
can retire to the Club and start "warming things up". I would
say the dinner should start at 6:00 with "tid-bits" and a social
hour then start chowing down at 6:30 - 7:00 or so - 'til???

I don't have any entertainment per sey but we could set-up
the VCR and have a coupld folks bring in some (fishing, hunting)
	tapes for viewing....????

Since I'm getting kinda "dragged-out" trying to think
of entertainment, maybe "someone" else can volunteer this??

I'll be sending out a memo to all who responded to me
with MAIL asking them what they'll be bringing and if they'll
be bringing a guest, so stay tuned to your VAXmail for further updates.

I'll send the MAIL out next week so that any "stragglers"
can respond to me as to whether they can make the date of APR 28...

Since Quabbin will be open on the 21st maybe we can have
	a couple of "fish dishes"??

						~Mike~
115.96Your bringing WHAT??WFOVX5::KEYWORTHWed Jan 31 1990 11:5213
    Hello everyone,

I will be the food chairman for this event. (Gee I like this already,
doesn't this mean I get to try everything first??? :^) :^) ) So,
what we'll need is salads, desserts, milk & sugar (the club has
coffee and soda), someone's homemade bread (but I won't mention
any names Patty), and the main courses. Now, if you'll all write
to me at WFOVX5::KEYWORTH to tell me what your bringing, I'll keep
track of things and post periodic results and needs here.

    Now where's my bib?

REP to my buddy John Keyworth !!!!

OK so I volinteered to do a hi power rifle demo last year!!
I'll let the offer stand. It will be good to show that there just
might be a "sporting" reason to own one of those "Assult Weapons".
I like to refer to mine as my Match Rifle. I might even be able
to find enough amo to let some of the others try their hand at some
    shooting!?!?!?

Now as for the demo on the bow instinctive bow shot!! I hope
the apple on top of Bears head is a BIG one. 8*)

I just happen to have some of the deer left over looking for
some one to eat. I'll bring some steak or chops. And just for you
John K. The part that went over the fence last 8^) 8^).

I regret to inform all the noters that I will not be able to
participate in the instinctive archery demonstration. I will
obvisiously be shooting Registered Skeet at Minuteman however
we plan on being at the supper.

IF the shoot is cancealed then I will need to go to My second reason
for declining to participate. "love of life, reverance of life, no
trust, Plain and simple, I'm Chicken."

However this does remind me of a story when I was about 13 and was in
the boy scouts we had truely an expert come in and give a Awesome
demonstration splitting arrows etc. Hitting things as small as a penny
    at will.

Well they asked for a volinteer . Put a Balloon on his head ( a 12 year
old boy ). The archer was to use Broadheads and then they blind folded
him. Next came the drumn roll..

While all this was happening someone slipped behind him and popped the
    balloon.

You should have seen him jump and sigh in releive.

You see this memory is forever etched in my head because I was
the volineer. So if someone else wants to volinteer be my guest
but you will never get me up there.

We still need a green salad, maybe some kind of pasta salad or potato

Ice Cream melting over the top or a Deep Dish Apple Pie with the
crumbly top just out of the oven or maybe a German Forest Cake,
you know the one with chocolat cake and the cherries oozing out
between the layers. No contribution is to small when it come's to

Well , I don't know what Mrs. Bear is going to make this year.

I usually give her about 24 hour notice ( 48 hour maximum )

Like tonight I will tell her about the her committment I made
at the Horseshoe F/G Club. Our dinner is tommorrow so I supose
I should mentioned it to her tonight.

Wel, I am sure to bring something. I just haven't figured out what it
    will be yet.

115.117Updated info. (4/17/90)TARKIN::AHOSkeet addict...Tue Apr 17 1990 14:3644

I'm sending this to the folks who've signed up for food
for the game supper and I'm putting it in the notesfile
	for others to know about.

April 28 is the Game supper at Lunenburg Sportsmens'
Club. Dinner will be at approx 6:30 PM...

I won't be there until around that time as I'll
be at a shoot in Burlington, MA along with Lee Grant & Richard
	Gath.

Jim Duffy will be the "bartender" so he should
be able to let you in the club to start warming your
	dishes.

I know that Steve Drumm had volunteered a high-
power rifle demo. Now, what I recommend is that anyone
that WILL be at the demo contact Steve directly at
WFOV12::DRUMM so he know's whether or not it is feasible
to hold the demo or not.

Steve may want to work the demo details out with
Jim Duffy as to timing, etc. as I won't be there.

Since I've been going "wild" here at work I haven't
got any entertainment for you this year. I know I provided
a TV the past couple of years for video watching, but it's
got a cracked chassis so I won't be bringing it this year.
If someone has a VCR and a 19" portable they wouldn't mind
bringing and someone can bring a couple hunting/fishing/dog
training video's feel free, otherwise it'll just be a dinner.

It looks like there'll be a "small" group this year.
In the past we had everyone "chip-in" $5.00/person for the use of
the club. Please keep this in mind.

I think we're all set... Hope to see you all there..!

It looks like I will not be able to make it. This is unfortunate
since I was signed up to bring dessert (although last year most
people were too full to indulge). Sorry for the short notice.

115.1201990 Game Supper.... TARKIN::AHOSkeet addict...Mon Apr 30 1990 12:0440

Well the game supper is now only a memory, but it was a
	DELICIOUS ONE !!!!

We didn't have a good turn-out this year (only 9
people) and we had PLENTY of food... It's to bad there are
not more hunters in the Central/Western Mass., Southern NH
area that are "successfull". I guess most of the "stories"
I read here in the Notes file must be just that, "stories"
	(sigh)...

I'd like to thank the folks that came and those
that couldn't that still sent their "dish" along. This
	includes the following:

			Jim Duffy (Bartender)
			Steve Drumm
			Lee & Charlotte Grant
			Bill Jollymore
			John Keyworth
			Patty & George Makrianis
			Ed & Sharon Marshall

Also I'd like to especially thank my wife (Linda)
who at the last moment provided desserts as there weren't
going to be any due to cancellations.

I'd also like to know WHERE WAS THE PICTURE ALBUM??
I thought "Fra" was going to bring it?????

I hope we get some more interest next year, and I
hope all you hunters out there have better luck this coming
year also as it seems there are only a few "sucessfull"
hunters at DEC, who are willing to SHARE their game with
	others anyway...

115.121Hey, Nice Gate at the LSC!VLNVAX::DMICHAELSONMon Apr 30 1990 13:0021
Hey, where was everybody?!?!?!?!?!?!? I was there Sunday!

Ooops! Wrong day! I am/felt/feel soooo stupid!

My apologies to everyone. Even my hunting buddies who I draged up to
Lunenberg (they gave me a lot of fargus). I knew the date was the 28th
but somehow I got that to be Sunday????? Dont know how, but all
weekend I kept thinkning Sunday and didnt check. So, we cooked our
meals and to Lunenberg we go. Only to feel so dumb.

After reading about last years feast, I've been planning on attending
this years for over a year. Then I go a do this stupid thing....UGH!

Well, after tring to open the gate at LSC (one look and I knew it was
hopeless). I got back in the car, reviewed all my data, and realized I
screwed up. I was punished though, all the way home. I had to listen to
my buddies scold me for the 45 min. ride home. But we had our own feast
once we did get home. I guess it wasn't all bad.

    Sorry People
    Don

    		Na, Fra wouldn't do that.....

Now, all kidding aside, what did become of the famous

115.126More Appologies...DELNI::G_FISHERMon May 14 1990 15:5720
Well, I had planned to be there. The Saturday before (April 21st), I
was out in western MA scouting for turkeys. I had this little brook to
cross in my Bronco II (the entire width was less than 2 ft deep). I
walked the whole brook and felt confident that it was crossable. What I
didn't see was the rock just before you get out of the stream. As my
left front tire stepped up over the rock, it dipped the right front of
the vehicle just enough to suck water through the air intake. Ford
conveniently locates the air intake on the Bronco II just above the
front bumper. I trashed the engine (bent rods and the whole shootin
    match).

So I spent Saturday the 28th hauling my sticken vehicle back home. The
farmer who pulled me out of the brook thought it was the funniest thing
he had ever seen. As I was under my bronco disconnecting the drive
shaft, he stood there and explained that they had turkeys on sale down
at the local market at 59 cents a pound and you didn't even need a gun

    See you next year.

It is once again Time ( or is it actually past time, nevermind ) to
    plan our annual Game Supper.

I understand Mr. Jollymore,Bill is wondering when will we
    get started this year.....

I here this from Uncle Mike....

I would like to be involved but I am on tempory assignment in springfield
mass for the next few months. I would love to attend but we need
    some organizers.

I also understand that a valued contributor is scheduled to leave Dec
and I think this would be a good way to say so long and good luck?

As a matter of fact if any of you are scheduled to take the package
this might be a good way to wish you off on your new endevours.
( I am refraining from mentioning his name )
There is some hope again this year that we can encourage some new people to
attend because they have surely missed out on a great time...

I can not understand why members of this conferance stay home..

I understand that for some it is just too far to go and I accept
that but others live with in a hour's drive.. We have had people from
    Augusta and Western Mass attend.

This can and has always been a great time and if you read the
testamonials it is by far some of the best prepaired wild game
    you could consume.

So Please,,,, Lets get this going and have some volinteers...

    We need dates
            a club
    	    a list of attendees.

So how about it... Lets talk it up..

I'm not a member of any club, but I went to this two years ago (Joan
and I brought the bear roast) and thought it was great. I'd like to go
again this year. Count on two for dinner as long as it is NOT the
weekends of April 20 or 27, or May 11. Otherwise, I'll be there along
with moose a la Popieniuck (will prepare something from the moose I
    bagged last Sept.).

the day I'll be there! I need to be, to see the friends I've made over
my years with Digital and wish all happy trails. Yes, my last day with
Digital is April 26, after 20 full years. God I'll miss you all.

Count me in, but I'll have to bow out on setting up or arranging
anything as due to DEC's "downsizing" I got all the excess
work from the "excess" people... GREAT !!!!!

I'm so busy this is the first time I've been in the HUNTING

I'm wondering if anything is being done? I don't belong to a club
with good facilities so I can't set anything up. I know it's A LOT of
work but I think we need this one supper more than any others. Some of
us are leaving the company and "need" to wish happy trails. So if
anyone can arrange a club and date/time please help us.
