923.0. "What F&G Club do you belong?" by JAWS::PAPPALARDO (A Pure Hunter) Wed Mar 06 1991 14:35

What Fish & Game Clubs Do you belong to. Some of us probably belong to
the same and don't even know it.

I belong to the "Pelham Fish & Game Club" in Pelham N.H.

I'll put in the Trap and Skeet schedule when I get it as I can't
remember what that is in detail.

Anyway, How about listing your club and there schedule...maybe us
noters could get together some weeknights at different clubs and
shoot some trap or skeet or just shoot the Sh*t....This way by listing
the schedule if someone decides the're going to give xyz club a try
they could contact you to let you know there coming and if we planned
on being there we could meet.

Maybe we can form a DECTeam....? The hunting season's a long way off
and I'm making a promise to myself to shoot at least once a week, it
would be nice to meet some of the noters in the area at the same time.

    Just a thought.

I don't belong to a club, and I won't be able to for some time (my wife just
got laid off unexpectedly). It's becoming increasingly difficult to find a place
to shoot within a reasonable drive in the Nashua, Nh area, especially a place
that doesn't charge. :-)

What does Pelham F&G offer, and how much is it?

    Well Doc,

Pelham is kinda high in price but worth it. There's a one time
initiation fee of $100. plus $70. for dues, then $70 each year after
if the fee remains the same.

    There's 1000(thousand) members.

There's a new Log-club house that is very very big with everthing a
    modern day club can offer.

Don't quote me but there's something like 6 trap ranges. 4 or 5 skeet
    ranges.

A 40 or 50 man rifle range out to 300yds. Your station is roofed.

There's 3 or 4 pistol ranges --silhouette ranges a couple of combat
    ranges.

    There's an in-door 22 range and seperate club-house.

There's 2 archery ranges one at the club and the other a few miles
away on 150 or so other acres we own. I think we own over 300 acres
    in total..not sure.

The club is NRA certified and many NRA and state champion shoots take
    place there.

There's also plans to expand into other things as well....

The bottom line is what-ever you think a club should have it does..if
it's not there it soon will be.

Oh yeah!! DOC one more thing.

I've got to get the schedule posted here for the night shoots of
    Trap & Skeet....

It's open to the public and all you need to pay is 4 or 5 bucks to
shoot if you have your own shells.

I'll get it posted....maybe we can get together one night a week or
    so?

I'd be happy to do some shooting with you. Maybe I could pick up some pointers
and hit more than my usual 60-80%. :-)

I'm also interested in doing some shooting with my .270 that I got for Xmas.
It's not quite as easy to shoot a rifle in a sand pit as a shotgun. :-) I've
got to become proficient with it, as my next deer may be a bit farther away
than my first. :-) :-)
