802.0. "Moose In My Front Yard" by PCCAD1::RICHARDJ (Bluegrass,Music Aged to Perfection) Fri Oct 12 1990 13:40

Well, I came home yesterday and my family was all excited. There was
a female moose in my front yard. I missed it by 5 minutes. There is a
bull a cow and a yearling living in the area of Sunset Lake, on the
Winchendon side. They have been spotted, photographed by many. The
thing is that they seemed to be getting used to people. My wide said
that the moose just looked at them and seem to care less. My family
was safe on the deck which was above the moose. The moose then walked
down the street like a cow heading back the barn, and out into the
    woods.

sounds like the same moose my father had stand 7 feet from his picture window on th
the back side of his house. He lives in Rindge N.H. which isnt very far thru the
woods to Winchedin. Also, there are 3 of them...

Possible. Even though I live on the Ashburnham line, the woods behind
my house go up into Rindge.

There was one spotted in Western Mass. last week; it went through
South Hadley, Ludlow (where I live hey!) Wilbraham, and was
last seen headed into Connecticut (where polls show it is
doing well in the gubernatorial race :-) )

There was a young bull (Estimated 700lbs.) in Wang Computers,Lowell
Mass. parking lot yesterday, and not a half hour later a Buck & Doe
were trapped in someone back yard a few miles away. All got away
    without any harm to themselves.

From what I've heard there was a ELK that was caught last week
in Independence Missouri. The tag on the animal was from the
    Alberta, Canada.

     Talk about a long walk.

That moose has been in my hunting area. Looking at his rub hurt my
neck (7+feet up). I don't think the deer will hang around with those
big guys in the area. Unless those does like the big ones....

Ya never know what you will see in the woods anymore.

PS: I feel so safe with my bow in case I get attacted by the moose.
