    Let's talk about ozone depletion, acid rains, nuclear wastes,
    greenhouse effect and such important issues a bit.

    Okay, seriously, I think we should ban Rap Music. (pardon the
    oxymoron). It is noise polution. :-) And all that hip hoppin'
    around is prolly causing earthquakes somewhere....

I run a GREEN hobby business... 100% of my scrap goes to the recyclers. I must
be serious about it also since I can't get around my shop at the moment due to
the buildup of scrap (due to my van still being busted). I also BUY from green
businesses whenever possible.

    Hi jim. I think you're right at your concerns. 
    The first thing I do when I open up my newspaper is to look for a
    funny article that will make my day. 
    
    I have an MS degree from Env. Sciences, that's why I just worried about
    what I can share with ::friends. This doesn't necessarily be too
    serious as it was named.

My hobby business involves styrofoam so I'm VERY concerned where my scrap goes.
My raw material is generated in a process that involves live steam to expand
rather than chemicals. I grew up in the 60s/70s and I'm very concerned about my
good friend Mother Earth.

    Seref, I am currently working toward my degree in Environemntal Studies
    and my volunteer resume reads like a whats_what of Earth friendly
    activities......we just like to keep the tone of ::FRIENDS real light
    and fluffy and not much stays on track here.

Glad to hear there are other enviro-conscious people around. I'm not blatant so
I don't find out who else is around me. Every can, bottle, paper recycled makes
a difference!

    SOAPBOX conference and I don't think your enthusiastic fluff tone

    Well, gee ... finally an issue I can really sink my teeth into and the
    prime players go off to play somewhere else. (sigh)
    
    Being one of the Healers of the Earth I would have found this topic fun
    and interesting. Taking care of the Mother is not all drudgery and
    seriousness. I do it with a light and happy heart. One of the best
    publications I can direct anyone to is `Green Egg'. Absolutely
    wonderful magazine!!

Serenity, I'd be interested in either a back issue of Green Egg or info on
getting a copy. I didn't always have a three piece suit in the closet and I do
still ear tiedye 8^)

No problem playing here as long as we keep it FUN!

    OOOOooooooOOO! That's a wonderful idea! (What idea?) Yes, A tie-dye
    party!! Let's do it!! I will be delighted to post the address next week
    for Green Egg. It really is the most wonderful publication.
    
    Now ... about that tie dye party .... everyone needs to bring their own
    t-shirt(s) or whatever they want to tie die. I can pick up the dye, but
    if everyone would like to donate a buck or so towards defraying the
    cost it sure would help. Chopsticks, rubber bands, string or yarn and a
    microwave .. that's all we need!
    
    (And MOE-Balls and munchies and hot loud music!)

	For those of you interested, there's a notesfile about this stuff
