69.0. "Romantic Date Ideas" by ASIMOV::DITOMMASO (I cant get use to this lifestyle) Fri Jul 10 1992 23:55

  OK Folks,

Its friday, and I'm stuck as far as fun things, romantic things so on
so forth to do! (and not by myself!)

Sure, if I lived in France, I might buzz down to Cannes have a nice long
dinner, walk around, enjoy the outdoor clubs ... that would be nice, and
romantic, ... HOWEVER ... I live in good ol' marlboro MA! SO, ...

Anybody got some good ideas for this area.

Boston is nice, it can be romantic, but given that tonight the tall
ships come in ... FORGET IT!

Anybody know of any nice outdoor cafe's anywhere, ... how bout someplace
nice to take a long walk, .. maybe along a beach ..

How bout something fun, like an amusement park, ... any good ones around?

OK, these things are decent ideas, ... now anybody have any details!!!!

Well, I guess that this topic will be the best one to post this in...

I wish to take my hubby on a romantic weekend away. It has to be
within three hours drive from Worcester, MA.

Looking for a bed and breakfast of cozy inn type of setting in the
middle of nowhere. Preferably with fireplace in the room, and/or a
    private whirlpool spa/jacuzzi.

If anyone knows of just such a place, other than The Lucerne Inn, Maine
please send me mail or post here for me, with as much info as possible
    about the reccomended place.

Someplace with a small restaurant at or nearby, places to walk
outdoors, clean, pretty, but most importantly very ROMANTIC!

    Thank you all.

    Terrie,

Got a great suggestion for you! It is the Christmas Farm Inn in
Jackson, New Hampshire. Sounds what you're looking for plus more! :)
I can tell you about it at lunch on Thursday if you remind me!

It is a small, cozy Inn. Beautiful surroundings (including Jackson
    Falls), excellent restaurant too!

    Terrie,

There's also a place called the "Westminster Villiage Inn" in
Westminster, MA. You can rent small cabins there will fireplaces in
the cabins. Try that .. it's really pretty and only about 40 minutes
    from Worcester.

69.16Mr. Data's psychological essay about romanceLJSRV1::LAMBRECHTThe Spirit of BavariaSun Jun 11 1995 10:4224
If I were a human femail, I would like to be surprised with:

       - A moonlight boat trip on a silent river. My date plays guitar and
sings for me, of course one of his own songs. No cheap copies
         please

       - A bright sunshiny day and a romantic walk through a blossom
covered meadow. My date stops and recites his latest love poem
         that he wrote for me.

       - An everyday's situation, my date chases away the clouds by smiling
at me and giving me a hug just with the intensive expression of
his eyes. I am just a heartbeat away from being able to read his
         mind.

Where can I find a guy like that?????
Love is a feeling full of silly dreams: Human males only care about
    their own pityfull worries.

Martina-Data, it really isn't fair to generalize like that! There are many men
that are sensitive and romantic! A couple of examples that Steve has surprised
me with:

When we got engaged, it was on a camping trip. Upon returning home, there was
a note from my mom to go into the bedroom. When I got in the bedroom, there
was a bottle of champagne (chilled) all decorated with curly ribbons, a teddy
bear holding the bottle and two champagne flutes on the tray. Also a big
note of congrats from the folks. Steve had prearranged this with her! Not to
leave it in the bedroom of course, but Mom was afraid the cats would chew the
ribbons all up. I immediately called her up and said "Mom, we're not married
yet and you're trying to get us into the bedroom already?!"

When we first started dating, the doorbell rang. I opened it and all I saw was
another teddy bear holding a bottle of wine and a dozen beautiful long stem
red roses. Steve was in the bushes with his arm outstretched so I couldn't
see him!

When we were on the cruise, one of the guys at our table was telling us about
his day snorkeling. He told us he found something, reached into his pocket
and pulled out a jewelry box. Naturally I expected him to give it to his wife.
Was I surprised when he looked at me and said "I believe it's for you". When I
opened it, inside was a gorgeous blue topaz pendant that I had admired in the
jewelry shop on board. Of course, Steve asked him to do this!

He worries about me before he worries about himself... I know there are alot
of creeps out there, and there are alot of b*tches too. Just keep looking,
never give up...there are alot of nice guys out there too!

    Hello Lola!

Thank you for this nice note. ;)
It feels so good to read how luck was friendly to you to let you
       find your Steve. ;)))))
Know that I never gave up nor ever will. ;)))))

    I know I'll find him .....

        sometime someday
        somehow someway
        somewhere in the nowhere
on the rim of the timeless hill
        where time stands still.
Where Venus and Mars cherish and share
their love and friendship, I'll meet HIM there.

I'll let you know when I am successful.

You're perfectly right, Chris, this note (69.24) is indeed snarfable.
    ;)

    Why?????

24 lovely hours has the day when you're in love
24 times love, that makes 4 times a day in a 6 days row
24 is 18 hexadecimal. And 18 years is how I feel, timelessly floating
       through the continuum.

24 is the question and the answer, the when and why, the beginning
       and the end.

69.26The prince of my dreams...LJSRV1::LAMBRECHTThe Spirit of BavariaTue Jun 13 1995 07:3739
I started thinking about how to describe the man I would like to meet.
    Here come the first thoughts:

HE is intelligent and has a flexible mind. He is playfull and romantic.
He can express his feelings eg by romantic poetry or music where he
writes the melody and text of his songs. ;)
HE is the one with whom I can fly on a rainbow.
His eyes are bright and full of stars. I can dive into his eyes and
loose myself in his treasurous ocean.
His smile is of the "sun breaks through dark fearsome clouds" type.
He is a fighter type and does not give up when it is worth fighting
    for.
He is very nice, friendly and honest. And he also is rough and tough
when he has to. He can be shrewd, sophisticated, a "dark Lord" when
    needed.
He respects and loves women. He thinks he created the line:
"Women - the best god ever created!"
He is funny, a comedian, what you guys call a "hot shit".

He is also physically attractive. Hair: RED!!!! But I also accept
blond or dark. Eg Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford have a chance. ;)))))
His attractive figure is achieved by sports or eg regular working out.

(He should fit most of my own qualities)

He is really attractive to me. And because he is I consider spending
efforts on staying attractive to him. I could even consider prefering to
spend a big amount of my time rather with him than alone and stop
    "looking around". ;)))))

Age: about 25-49 (50 sounds old to me)
But..... for Harrison Ford I'll of course make an exception. ;)))))))))
So feel free to tell him!!! ;)))))))))))

    ;)
    Martina-Data

PS: Oops, big big advantages are of course: being a StarTrek fan and
        also watching Babylon 5 ;)
