315.1Oh Boy, that sounds like a tough one..... ;)LJSRV1::LAMBRECHTThe Spirit of BavariaWed Mar 29 1995 23:3110
Hello Tracey!

send me the letter..... perhaps I haven't forgotten all my German yet.....
it has only been one year so far. ;)
I'll send you my mailstop by mail.
But..... don't expect the resulting translation to be a perfect one with
elegant choices of words and terms,,,, my English is still less than
   perfect. ;) ;) ;)

Martina,

Your English is excellent!! Much better than alot of people who have been
educated here, although we don't speak English...we speak American!!!

I have sent a copy to you via mail. As for your English well I am
English and do not speak another language at all, nither do the twenty
or so people I have asked in person. We the British are very lazy about
learning other languages, and I admire those people who do very very
much. I just wish I had the aptitude to do it.

    Thanks

Hi Tracey,

wow, thank you so much for your nice flattering comments on my
   language abilities!!!
   ;) ;) ;)

   >> I just wish I had the attitude to do it.
You don't even need an attitude for it.... we Germans live in the
middle of Europe and with each small hop we'll land in a different
country with a different language. ;)
That inevitably leads to learning English as somehow an inofficial
language for Europe which takes you through the major part.
The Dutch mostly speak even 3 (!!!) languages fluently.
I speak only German and English.
And I can "entertain" people with my about 100 French words. ;) ;)
