579.0. "NASA BBS's" by NETMAN::COHEN (Nothing is EVER easy...) Tue Nov 14 1989 01:55

    Boy am I full of questions! Does anyone know if NASA has a toll free
    number for a BBS that I can reach on a VT180? Or if NASA has a BBS that
    has a number in the eastern Mass. area?I tried doing a Dir/Tit= but all
    the info I got was on SpaceLink which is public but is not toll free.
    If there is another note on this could you please direct me to it?

    	Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

    	-Matt

    The only ones I know of are SpaceLink and another NASA one at Lewis
    SFC which has similar material. What are you looking for? You may be
    able to find info elsewhere. You could also ask on Usenet. A few NASA
    folks appear in sci.space and sci.space.shuttle.

Generally it is a small privately controlled computer system to which phone
access is granted which is running software which provides the callers with a
menu driven interface to access the information available. Generally you can
access a BBS with any brand of computer which has the proper baud rate modem
and a terminal emulator capability.
