1646.0. "Digital NICs and Novell MSL" by MEOC02::CANTLONTONY () Tue Apr 04 1995 08:39

    What Digital FDDI adapters are certified by Novell for Novell MSL?
    A reseller here claims he has checked a Novell Lab Fax Back System and
    the only certfied card according to that system is the EISA/UTP.
    I thought all the DEFEA and DEFPA cards were certified.

    All of the DEFEA and DEFPA cards are supported for use as Mirrored
    Server Link adapters under SFT III. However, even though Digital is a
    Novell Labs Certification Alliance member and can self-certify ODI
    drivers for our products, we are currently NOT allowed to self-certify
    the MSL drivers. Consequently, we rely on Novell Labs to do the
    certification. The MSL driver that Red Boxed in NetWare 4.10 does
    support all of the DEFEA adapters, however the certification bulletin
    only lists the UTP variant.

    We currently have more recent drivers at Novell pending MSL
    certification for both the DEFEA and DEFPA adapters. Please check with
    Devon Terpening (NETCAD::TERPENING) for status on that effort.

    Has there been any update to this note?

    Is our DEFPA Novell certified now, or if not, do we know when it will be?
    (Even an estimated timeframe would be useful.)
