14.0. "Holiday closure" by WORDS::BADGER (Can Do!) Mon Mar 02 1987 18:50

    So the tellers didn't want it,
    so the closedown wasn't too convienent for us,
    WHY AND WHO shutdown DCU over the Christmas holiday?!

    If this credit union is for us, how 'come we don't get a say?

    I just had to go through a house closing during the week DCU was
    closed. DCU was my primary bank.
    The ATM machine ate my card during the WEEK closed. Who needs money,
    anyways.

    THANKS CURRENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS!

14.1my vote for HomerWORDS::BADGERCan Do!Fri Mar 06 1987 11:4315

    My entries here seem to have been seen by two candidates running
    for office. At the conclussion of the exchanges, I can only say,
    lets give HOMER CATES our SINGLE vote! Lets give the directors
    a message. Homer appears to be a regular person like us, based
    on that, maybe he might know what its like to earn money and
    use a bank.
    There's a lot of work to be done by the directors, so it is possible
    that they can loose touch with reality. Maybe limiting terms to
    one year and only allowing a single term would best serve DCU?

    just my opinion

14.2How Do We Know & Can We Have A Say?SWATT::LEEBERsNOw More!Tue May 12 1987 21:039
    Just how does the DCU notify the membership of holiday closings?

    My expectation is that the DCU information publication that comes
    with the monthly statements would be one way that the DCU can and
    (I think) does let us know. I guess the question posed is more on
    the line of how we members can influence the selection of "optional"
    holidays (when NOT required by law to close).

14.3Remember New Years?SUBSYS::LAWLERBack at Windham Intl.Wed May 13 1987 12:268

    And along the same lines,

    "How can we members prevent another New Years disaster" with all
    	but one branch closed, and both ATM networks out of service?
    That was unacceptable to say the least!

14.4Tell the board of directorsEXIT26::STRATTONTrespassers will be violatedThu May 14 1987 01:387
        The board of directors decided that the DCU should be closed
        during those days in December. If you do not want that
        to happen again, tell them. (Their names are in another
        note.)
