| Angeline,
There is no way to make any of the major ODMA apps allow the
user to specify that they want to see the native file system
(i.e. DOS) dialog box first. They all make the DMS dialog
display first.
I can't find any explicit instructions in the ODMA Spec that
say the DMS dialog must be displayed first. I thought there
was something but I cannot find it now. I think one of the reasons
the application vendors make the DMS dialog display first is
the DMS dialog is required to have a way for the user to indicate
that they want to save to the native file system. An example
is the "DOS..." button in the TL dialogs. Only the Corel apps
have a "Doc Mgr..." button to allow the user to go back to the
DMS dialog.
I've asked the vendors to provide a way to get back to the
DMS dialog from the DOS dialog and most have said no. Their
reasoning is the user can just press Cancel and do the command
again. I also asked them to provide an option to allow the user
to display the DOS dialog first, but they all considered it a
feature request that was not called for in the ODMA Spec and
sited the need for the addition button in the DOS dialog to
make it work.
I asked for both because it is something DEC did in most of the
old macro integrations and I knew people would want it in the
new ODMA integrations.
I can't work-around this in the TL ODMA code. It's up to the
application to implement it.

It depends really on what he wants. If needs to sometimes save
files directly from Word into the FC, then he has to continue
with ODMA and just press the DOS... button. If he never wants to
open or save FC documents in Word then I question why he installed
ODMA.
ODMA and Simple MAPI are not dependant on each other. If all he
wants is mail, then he can do that.
BTW - To disable ODMA, just rename ODMA.DLL and/or ODMA32.DLL. These
files are in the windows system directory. If you do that you
disable ODMA for all apps on the PC. We're working on a way to
disable it on a per application basis.

Bob
