2142.0. "Characters Sets and TeamLinks" by OASS::ANDRES_B () Tue Apr 22 1997 13:05

    TeamLinks 2.7

Customer is receiving mail message from the Internet into a
Mailworks file cabinet. The message was originated in a
different language. The language was Chinese.

This site wants to know which character sets TeamLinks supports.
Since when they read these messages they are not readable. It
appears to be garbage but it is probably just the different
    language.

I assume this is the English/USA version of TeamLinks? If
so, then we support the Windows character set, which is
ANSI. We also have limited support for whatever DOS OEM
character set is in use when it comes to handling filenames
and the like.

I'm not sure what their options are. Possibly that message
uses DBCS (double byte character set). Maybe they could
find a shareware app and font that would let them view it.
Or possibly it could get converted to Unicode and be viewed
on NT. Or maybe it already is Unicode?

I'm just making stuff up, perhaps someone else will have a
better understanding of the problem and possible solutions.
