2084.0. "DEFAULTS.INI with no user interaction at all??" by WOTVAX::rasmodem8.reo.dec.com::warbly::bell (Martin Bell @BBP) Tue Mar 25 1997 07:41

My customer uses DEFAULTS.INI to automate the installation of
TeamLinks (v2.5 in this case) - i.e. NO user input at all!

However, at the end of the installation, a dialog box appears
saying "TeamLinks Setup has completed successfully!", with an
"OK" button to click.

Is there some way of preventing this final dialog box from
appearing, so that the installation proceeds without any user
interaction at all??

Cheers,

mb

No, currently there is no way to turn off that last dialog.

Could we possibly provide an option in defaults.ini to prevent that
final message box from displaying when the installation is finished?
Or is this out of our control?

I think it could be done, but that wouldn't work for V2.5.

If it could be (easily) included in a future version of TeamLinks then
it would be much appreciated.

For large roll-outs it is common to automate the installation or
upgrade, and TeamLinks may be only one of the products involved.

It would save having to pop back from your "coffee break" just to
click to continue the upgrade!!!

Any chance of getting this little feature in v3.0???

I'll enter in the PTR system. I don't think it would
be difficult so hopefully we can get to it.
