1961.0. "problem with IBM S3 driver and TeamLinks" by ALFSS2::GIANNETTI_D () Mon Jan 27 1997 14:07

Customer has TeamLinks 2.7 on 3 different NT 3.51 systems
(IBM Pentium 75 mhz) with S3 video driver. When going into
create message window they have characters missing and some
characters are garbage.

Customer says the s3 driver for the IBM cannot have colors
lower than 256.

Problem Scenario:

If you open and close the create message window often
enough you reach a point that while working in the create
message window, typing the message text for the cover memo,
the underline will become a space, certain letters will not
appear but a blank space will appear in their place.

Also when you are reviewing a message you have created, and
you page down, the screen is not refreshed completely, and as
a result, new text along with text from the previous page are
being intermingled.

The window size, borders, and shape remain intact.

This appears to only happen on the IBM systems with the s3
driver. Their Digital 466 system seems to be fine using an S3
driver. Their Digital pentium system works fine using an ATI
driver on it.

Customer has updated the IBM s3 driver and the problem
continues.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Sure sounds like a driver problem. Have they also
applied the latest service packs to NT V3.51? It's
at least SP5.

Also, maybe something as simple as using different
font(s) in the Create Message window would clear
it up.
