Have the courses described in .1 been upgraded for TeamLinks 2.7?

If not, are there any plans to do so? When?

RE .2 (Hi, Malcolm!) - No and no, I'm sorry to say. (Reason? Lack of funding.)

There is a possibility that the support course will be updated for V3.0
(skipping V2.7). But no guarantees at this point...

Hi Nina.

>> (Reason? Lack of funding.)

Sigh!!

OK, one more question. Is the source available? (eg Word for Windows as in
the latest 2.7 documentation). Or do we only have access to the Postscript
files?

thanks

Malcolm

Hi, Malcolm. I can't think of a reason offhand why the sources (which are
in Word) couldn't be made available, but I'd better check with the training
manager just to be sure. I'll report back when I find out.

17.6courses on the Web via MCS Learning UtilityORION::chayna.zko.dec.com::manana::eppesNina EppesFri Mar 07 1997 17:1664
I just found out that released courses and documentation (in PostScript
format only, as far as I can tell) are available on the Web from the
MCS Learning Utility (I guess it is pulled from GEL).

See the information below on how to access it.
-- Nina
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MCS Learning Utility uses World Wide Web technology to provide access
to Digital training and documentation whenever and wherever you need it.

The Learning Utility database is distributed across strategically located
servers. Each server contains the same information as the Corporate server.
The "local" servers may also contain information of interest to that
particular region. Please use the server designated for your geographic area
to minimize network congestion. The other servers are accessible if your
designated server becomes unavailable.

The URL for the Learning Utility home page is:

        http://www-mcslu.***.dec.com/mcsl/mcslhome.html

where the *** should be replaced by the site of the server located nearest
to you.

THE FOLLOWING SITES ARE THE SERVER LOCATIONS:

Americas:
--------
DAS - Andover, Massachusetts (Corporate Server)

ALF - Alpharetta, Georgia (Master Americas Server)

      CXO - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Asia-Pacific:
------------
HGO - Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong (Master AP Server)

      SNO - Sydney, Australia

      TBJ - Tokyo, Japan

Europe:
------
      RTO - Munich, Germany

      SOO - Stockholm, Sweden

      EVT - Evry, France

REO - Reading, England (Master European Server)

      GEO - Geneva, Switzerland

      UTO - Utrecht, Netherlands

Please remember to use lower case letters for url addresses.

If you experience problems using the Learning Utility, there is a User Guide
that you can access right from the LU Home Page.

17.7Course sources can be available internally, with caveatsORION::chayna.zko.dec.com::manana::eppesNina EppesFri Mar 07 1997 17:4131
RE .6: We can make the TeamLinks course sources (which are Word files)
available to Digital folks with the following provisions:

o The official version of the course is the one in GEL (also available
   from the MCS Learning Utility)

o Sources are given on an as is basis, with no followon commitment from us

o Sources cannot be released to third-party training vendors

If you have a need for the TeamLinks course sources, you can contact me
or Peter LaQuerre at:

Nina.Eppes@zko.mts.dec.com or Nina.Eppes@ZKO (one of these preferred)
   BOOKIE::EPPES or ORION::EPPES

   Peter LaQuerre@zko.mts.dec.com or Peter LaQuerre@ZKO
   laquerre@tlexch.zko.dec.com (preferred)
   BOOKIE::LAQUERRE or ORION::LAQUERRE

If a number of people start asking us for the sources, though, we're going
to start hitting you up for funding so they can be updated for everyone! :-)
