814.0. "Nashua NH area Surveyor Needed!" by EMASS::SICA (Seek the Beach!!) Tue Apr 26 1988 17:41

I need the name and number of a surveyor to check out a boat
in the MERRIMACK NH area. I do not wish to purchase this boat without
having it surveyed. If you know of anyone in this geographic area
that does surveying PLEASE let me know. We are currently in the
process of aranging financing. I am aware that this is probably
going to be some BUCKS! On the other hand what good is a 20K chunk
    of fiberglass?

Please any info would be welcome...and Wanted!!!!

    Thanks.

re .-1 I called the number for the Captian. He's out but there
was another surveyor by the name of Paul Haley. Any Feedback?????
If not soon he will come out.

The rates currently are 375 per day plus 30cents per mile. Since
the boat is a 1986, he said it would probably take less than a full
day and that the rate is pro-rated. I'm estimating the cost to
be around 375. (275-300 work, 60-75 for travel).

Kershaw & Full both are good; I prefer Kershaw. (Giffy missed a couple
trouble spots on PUFFIN before she was sold; fortunately the buyer did,
too.)

I second the Kershaw recommendation. When we had some insurance
work done the company insisted on his final clearance. He is pleasant
to work with and really knows his stuff. He is a little blunt,
however, and will call a piece of crap just that.
