Does anyone knows on a mercury engine 100hp,6 cylinder where the
water pump is located,is it easy to get to it.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You might try one of the various outboard engine repair manuals that are
available. Given the general perversity of mechanical things, the water
pump will not be easily accessible, and if it is, all of the attaching
bolts/screws will be firmly and immovably corroded into place.

Note: I have read that coating screw threads with anhydrous lanolin
(available at drug stores courtesy of your local sheep) inhibits
corrosion significantly, especially on steel threads in aluminum. Rod
Stephens recommends its use on turnbuckles. I tried that last spring,
and in the fall our turnbuckles unscrewed easily with no galling. The
stuff is nonconductive, doesn't wash off, and sets into a thick goo
which tends to act like a lockwasher. It does melt at a low temperature.
The best part is that it is used as a base for cosmetics, so just rub it
into your hands. No harsh cleaning agents needed like with so many high
tech lubricants.
