960.0. "Accidental "e" command/ladebug dies" by GEMEVN::GLOSSOP (Kent Glossop) Wed May 21 1997 15:00

Ron Brender said this would be a good place to put this...

...
(ladebug) e store

Ladebug Debugger Version 4.0-20 caught signal "Segmentation fault" (11).
This is an unexpected condition and may indicate the presence of a defect.
If you wish to report this, please include the stack trace that follows.

Please send me mail (glossop@zko.dec.com) if you want more info. (I don't
follow this conf.)

(Also, I'd like to add a comment that dbx was much more graceful about
catching its own errors and at least attempting to return to its own
command prompt. It's "rather irritating" to be well into a debugging
session trying to debug a problem only to have the debugger die and
have to get back to the actual point where you were trying to do something.)

This sounds familiar - and -20 is VERY old

-35 (which we have on our main system) appears to be OK.
(I wound up needed to debug a problem on an ev45 system, and it
was only that older system that had the old version of ladebug
on it.)
