3960.0. "Need Barbeque Cookbook Help..." by HOTLNE::LUCHT () Tue Jul 19 1994 17:01

         Before the summer months fade away, could someone
    please supply me with a name of THE definitive barbeque
    cookbook. I did a title search under COOKBOOK, BOOK, and
    BARBEQUE and came up shorthanded. With all the recent
    activity in some of the barbeque notes, perhaps some of
    the experts out there can help me.

    Thanks,
    Kev --

    I'm not sure it's "THE definitive" BBQ book, but I highly recommend
    Chris Schlesinger's "The Thrill Of The Grill". Chris Schlesinger is
    associated with two restaurants in the Boston area: East Coast Grille
    (Inman Sq, Cambridge) and The Blue Room (One Kendall Sq, Cambridge).

    TOTG is full of very interesting BBQ main dishes and many side dish
    recipes/suggestions to go along. Many of the recipes (especially fish
    and seafood) are Caribbean in nature and there are various southern BBQ
    recipes which compare/contrast BBQ in different areas of the southern
    US. It also contains other good info about BBQ (equipment, info on
    regional influences) and some pretty good commentary to go along
    (making it one of the most fun reading cookbook I have).

    It's not my only BBQ book, but I'd say it's currently my best.

No offense, but with all the existing cookbook notes, including multiple generic
looking for a cookbook notes, did you really have to start yet ANOTHER one?
3960.3Sounds interesting...HOTLNE::LUCHTSecuring the WorldThu Jul 21 1994 16:3214

         If there's a better home for it, the MODERATOR can move this
    all to where it belongs. Just trying to spark some conversation.

    easily attainable?
