Help!!! I need annatto seeds. Does anyone know where, in the
Maynard/ Boston area I can find these things. I've looked nearly everywhere.

Thanks,

Jim

A couple of places you might try: Savoury Lane, on Rt2A in Acton,
in the same plaza as the movie theatres. This is a deli, but they
have a large selection of oddball spices and things, including all
    the K-Paul's Cajun mixes.

Other place: also on 2A, a bit west, called Joyce Chen's Oriental
Kitchen. A food store chock full of exotic stuff, some of which
is labeled in Mandarin and I have no idea what it is. Lots of spices.

Both places are worth visiting even if they don't have Annato seeds
    (and I'll bet they do!)

Anatto is a South American spice. It can be found in the GOYA section
of most grocery stores inside rt. 128. I have personally seen it
in Waltham Supermarket. They have the most extensive spanish food
    section I've seen so far.

I beleive it also comes in a crystalized version referred to as
achiote. I can't seem to find this in the acton area stores, but
I used it a lot when I lived east. It's a wonderful spice.

Goya brand can be found almost anywhere, usually in the ethnic food section.
However, Goya's annatto goes by the Spanish name, anchiote.
