3978.0. "Cheese/Fruit together" by CHORDZ::WALTER () Tue Sep 20 1994 20:08

I am surprized that I cannot find a listing of select cheese, fruit and
whatever else goes well on a tray for an appetizer.

I would like to find some sort of list that puts together the fruits
and vegetables in season, cheese, nuts, and even meats that will blend
    nicely together.

    Have you tried:

Grapes, Muscadet and Garlic Cream Cheese?
    Ripe Brie and Pears?
    Strawberries and Peppercorn Cream Cheese?
Nasturtium Flowers and a good Farmhouse Cheddar? (my favourite)

I just received 1/2 of a wheel from Aruba of Gouda. Should the cheese
be served at room temperature because I did this and it became very
    soft.

What fruits and vegetables will go best with this type of cheese?

My mother used to serve hot Apple pie with cold Gouda cheese. I love
apple pie with (any) cheese!

Try Shaws supermarkets, I have bought "Wensleydale", seen "Cheshire".

They seem to have space for one or two british cheeses, and only
a couple of peices of each. but the types change frequently.
I think they may well cover all regions given enough time
