3112.0. "VINEGAR: Raspberry Vinegar" by ABACUS::ALBERT () Tue Jul 02 1991 13:55

    I'm looking for a "raspberry vinegar" does anyone know where
     I can find it? I need it for a chicken recipe. I was thinking
       of maybe trying to find it in the international sections of food
        stores.  thanks in advance.

recipe in note 24.0

    The Old Country Store in Bolton (Rte. 117) has it also.

    Since your node suggest Merrimack, you could try Jordan Marsh in
    Bedford. They have a small specialty food section on the second floor,
    right next to the Godiva chocolates. :^) They had both blackberry
    vinegar and raspberry vinegar a few months back.

    Also, if you are looking for a more elaborate bottle of raspberry
    vinegar, the Elegant Farmer in Chelmsford has bottles of all sizes, as
    well as prices. Expensive, but worth it.

    Crabtree & Evelyn also sells it, although you'd have to travel a bit of
    a distance. Any specialty food shop should carry this as a standard
    item. Perhaps the place in the Pheasant Lane Mall has it? Try calling
    first.....

    I bought mine at Pheasant Lane Mall about a year ago. I think
    the store name is "International Fare" or something like that.

Shaw's in Milford, NH. I'm sure the other locations would have it also.

3112.8Raspberry Vinegar - recipe and note 24 removed...SEABRZ::SEELEYFri Apr 08 1994 20:259
Does anyone know where the recipe that is referred to in a previous reply here
- to make raspberry vinegar - as residing at note 24 has gone? Note 24 no
longer exists.

Thanks,

Lauren

Also, does anyone have any other recipes that USE raspberry vinegar?

    I was recently out of all other kinds of vinegar so in a moment of
    desperation I tossed some raspberry vinegar onto my steamed spinach -
    surprisingly good! The sweetness was not at all disconcerting and
    actually worked well. I still prefer Balsamic though.

    I also like a dish my mother made with very lightly steamed
    green beans, matchstick carrots and red peppers - with raspberry
    vinegar and asst herbs. (I can't ask her what because she never makes
    the same thing twice.)

    The recipes that introduced me to this vinegar were in the Silver
    Palate and the Silver Palate Good Times Cookbooks. The *best* was
    raspberry chicken breasts .... ymmmmmmmm. I've modifed those
    particular recipes by using blueberry vinegar too.
