3989.0. "CHOCOLATE: Recipes from CHOCOLATES notes conf" by JUMP4::JOY (Perception is reality) Fri Oct 28 1994 16:20

    For those of you who used to read the CHOCOLATE notes conference and
    find you miss the recipes, I still have a compiled list of the recipes
    as of 1991 in a disk file. You can copy it from
    JUMP4::$USERS:[JOY]CHOCOLATE.RCP.

    Enjoy!

    and for those of you who have not yet found but still want to
    read the shadowed notes file it's on FIEVEL::CHOCOLATE.SHADOW_NOTE
    which you can get to by such notes wizardry as:
    MODIFY ENTRY CHOCOLATE/FILE=FIEVEL::CHOCOLATE.SHADOW_NOTE
    or ADD ENTRY if you don't already have chocolate in your notebook, etc.

    I input the file name into my directory and now it comes up as remote
    node not known.

    As a non-techie - what does this mean - and have I done something
    wrong.

    Please help
    a chochoholic

    there are some possibilities, such as, your network database
    is out of date. This could be checked at the DCL prompt
    with a command such as:

    $ MCR NCP SHOW NODE FIEVEL

    and it should say something like:

    Node Volatile Summary as of 31-OCT-1994 11:09:11

        Node State Active Delay Circuit Next node
                                  Links

    18.285 (FIEVEL)                               MNA-0         2.1023
    (ZK1RT1)

    or it might say something like:

    $ mcr ncp sho node fieval

    Node Volatile Summary as of 31-OCT-1994 11:14:19

    %NCP-W-UNRCMP, Unrecognized component , Node

    now, you might be able to get your system manager to fix things or if
    you're desparate for a chocolate fix and don't want to wait you could,
    at the notes prompt:

    Notes> modify entry chocolate/file=18717::chocolate.shadow_note
    then
    "open chocolate" this latter is not a preferred way of doing it
    because the node FIEVEL might move to a new address and you'd be back
    to "Wahhh, where's my chocolate!" :-)

    see what you can do.
