I received a brochure in the mail the other day that other noters in here 
might be interested in. Apparently Boston University has a "Seminars in the 
Culinary Arts" series. They all sound fabulous and are reasonably priced.

I'll list the pertinent information below. If you want more info on a

Presentation of Food with John Carafoli: Wed. Feb. 10, 1993, 6:30-8:30pm, $35

Cooking for Yourself and Friends: Hands-on cooking classes by Linda Criss. 
Each participant will receive a copy of Jacques Pepin's book The Short Cut 
Cook. Thursdays, Feb. 11,18,25, March 4,11,18,25, April 1,8,15, 1993. 
6:30-9:30 pm, $700.

Cooking for Kids: A Valentine'S Treat: Cooking class for kids, ages 9-12. 
Children prepare a full meal to bring home. Sat. Feb. 13, 1993, 1-4 pm, 
$70; $60 if you bring a buddy

Master Chef of Boston Jody Adams: Chef from Michela's will demonstrate 
cuisine from the Piedmont and Lombardy regions of Italy. Tasting 
afterwards. Wed. Feb. 17, 1993; 6-9pm; $40, $30 if you bring a friend

Chocolate Daze with Albert Kumin: 3 days of hands-on chocolate making. Mon.

Master Chef of Boston Jimmy Burke: From Waltham's Tuscan Grill,

The BU Wine CLub Presents a Pairing of Food and Wine with Charles Grandon: 
Exec. chef of the Colonnade Hotel will demo a menu to pair with wines. Wine 
expert also on hand. Eating and drinking of food and wine will take place.

La Cucina Siciliana with Mary Ann Esposito: Hands on seminar of foods from

Barbara Kafka Presents Party Food: How to make party food. Includes book

The French Paradox with Jacques Pepin and R. Curtis Ellison: Compare and 
contrast effects of diet and wineon the health of the French and Americans. 
Mr. Pepin will prepare a meal which the students will eat. Also includes a

A Musical Soiree: At BU's Castle, hors d'ouerves, wines and chamber music 
fom members of the BSO. Includes concert, all beverages, food, tax and 
gratuity. Fri. Mar 26; 7:30pm; $50.

Cavier, Truffle, Foie Gras, Rare Cognac Orgy: Participatory event, Good 
food and good humor. April Fool's night. Bring war stories, food jokes, and 
a joke food item for the grab bag. Thurs. April 1, 7-9pm, $15 million 
dollars (oops! $15 per person)

The BU Wine Club Presents An International Grill Party and Domestic Beer 
Tasting: Owner of The Blue Room in Canbridge will present international 
dishes and pairing them with a selection of local beers. Wed. April 14; 
6-9pm; $30, $25 each if you bring a friend.

Another Taste of Italy with Margaret and Franco Romagnoli: Demonstration of 
a Roman dinner from the Lazio region of Italy which you will sample. Each 
attendee receives a copy of their book The New Romagnoli's Table. Wed.

The BU Wine Club Presents Kathleen Cornelia and Walter Zuromski: Chef 
Zuromski, from Mill Falls Restaurant and Ms. Cornelia, manager from 
Clicquot, Inc. will be pairing wine from Trefethen Vinyards with hors 
d'oeuvres. Demonstration, tasting and discussion. Monday, April 26; 6-9pm; 
$30, $25 each if you bring a friend.

The BU Wine Club Presents A Spring Champagne Tasting: Jean-Louis 
Charbonnier of the Champagne News and Information Bureau wil present a 
tasting of Champagnes new to the BU Wine Club. Monday, May 3; 6:30pm; $15, 
$10 each if you bring a friend.

A Springtime Celebration with Julia Child: Join Julia as she prepares a 
full menu of springtime foods. Food and beverages will be served. Each 
participant will receive a copy of Julia's book, The Way To Cook. Wed, May 
5; 6-9pm; $80.
