1851.0. "Milkweed Recipes" by SAFETY::WALKER () Wed Jun 28 1989 12:09

    I am looking for a recipe that utilizes milkweed blossoms.
    I had some with a cream sauce when I was a teenager doing
    oddjobs for an old biology teacher. It tasted great.
    Unfortunately, she is dead now and I don't know her relatives.

    Does anyone have a clue to finding a recipe that uses milkweed
    blossoms? Maybe you have an old cookbook that may have it?

    Thanks for your effort,

    Rich

    I generally just steam them like broccoli. Be sure to only pick
    the blossom heads that have not yet begun to show any pinkish
    color. Rinse them well and plop 'em in a steamer. They cook a
    little quicker than broccoli. Then top them with whatever suits
    your fancy; I like a little grated cheese.
