2403.0. "Chicken: Beer Battered" by WLDWST::KAUFFMAN_A () Mon May 07 1990 10:15

    I have been trying to find a recipe for beer-battered chicken and/or
    fish. I have looked through these recipes and have been able to
    locate anything. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Take 1can of beer and then mix in with a wire whip all purpose flour
    until you get a pancake batter concinnity then add paprika to add
    color then add salt and pepper to taste. Some cooks also add alittle
    garlic powder. If you get it to thick add water or beer.

    also always flour what ever your going to batter so the batter will
    stick. Make sure the oil is hot- 360 Good luck!!

    I forgot to tell you in last note if your going to cook chicken
    you should par cook it before you beer batter it becuse the chicken
    will be raw on the inside ,while the outside will be done.also
    let it cool between processes.

2403.5Beer Batter great for Onion ringsCSSE32::SKABOMoney talks, mine say's GOODBYE!Tue May 08 1990 17:292
	The Beer batter recipe works great for Onion rings.....

    The results will be better if you chill the flour first and use
    very, very cold beer.

    (Try Vidalia or Walla Walla sweets for the onion rings...never again
    will you enjoy those sorry breaded things at fast food joints.)

    also known as *Sweet Georgia* onions. these onions get so sweet in the
    spring/summer that you can eat them just as you would an apple. if
    you plan on purchasing them in the grocery stores up north, i'd buy
    some in another month. better batch, so to speak!
