    It's some sort of non-animal protein. I'm not really sure what it's
    made of but I think it's made from some form of fungi.

    Its actually a form of mushroom I believe.  As to cooking I believe if
    you are making satay then you would cook as per the recipe.  We can buy
    quorn from Tesco's here and the recipes they have on the back are for
    stirfrys and the cooking time is normally the same as if you were
    cooking with beef or chicken.

    Quorn is mentioned in the Oxford English Dictionary *Supplement*
    as "The name of a village in Leicestershire (now Quorndon), used
    attrib. and ellipt. to denote a famous hunt centered there.
