About 10 years ago all of the waste from the water treatment plant in
Merrimack was set out to compost in a lagoon off Lawrence Road. Gaddd,
the place smelled. Since then, of course, the whole thing's been
    cleaned out.

But, you say the blueberries are the biggest you've ever seen, ehh???

$1 per pound, but both Oscar and Lucille do things like weighing the
bucket and bag, and saying "that's 5 and a quarter pounds, call it five"
... and "that's just over five and a half, call it five."

We picked yesterday, and that's *exactly* how he weighed our two buckets.
They've been doing this as long as we've been picking there, several
years. So, it's a less than a buck a pound this year, all things considered.
Particularly when you consider that I taste the fruit from each bush that
I approach. Can't be too sure, you know B^)

Plus, Lucille always has new blueberry recipes, which she hands out each
time you go. Yesterday the sheet had three recipes, headed by Blueberry
Buckle. Nancy made it last night and it was super! If you go there for
the first time, be sure to tell them, as the maintain a mailing list, to
advise their customers when the crop is ready.

We usually go several times when the berries are in.

3153.9Wild NH BlueberriesAIMHI::JUTRASTue Aug 13 1991 15:329
A few weeks back my wife and I went to Wellington State Park, on Newfound
Lake in NH, to spend a relaxing day. By the time we went home we had
picked 4+ quarts of wild blueberries! The little (and in my opinion the
most flavorful) kind. They were everywhere throughout the park. I
remember going there as a kid and picking tons of them with my siblings.
But the last few years I had been the bushes were all picked over.
I never expected to find the bushes so full this far into the season.
Needless to say my freezer is now well stocked with wild NH
    blueberries.
