4071.0. "Help! Too much vinegar in deviled egg mix" by WMOIS::GILLIGAN (Renegades, rebels & rogues) Tue Dec 26 1995 12:42

    Need Deviled Egg help!!

My husband 'slipped' with the vinegar while making deviled eggs and
there is way too much vinegar in the yolk mix now. The consistency is
okay and it even smells fine, but the taste is too overpowering with the
vinegar. Is there ANYTHING I can do to cut the taste of the vinegar?
Could adding sugar counteract the taste? Or maybe heating up the
    mixture help 'evaporate' the vinegar??

Any help would be appreciated. I would hate to waste a dozen eggs!!

    Thanks,

    Karen

Depending on how badly he slipped, you might be able to just add more egg
yolks.

Or you can turn it into a deviled egg and potato salad. Boil up some potatoes
and mash them in. They won't be deviled eggs anymore, but they'll be good!
