1380.0. "APIbadLength - Possible Causes/fix ???" by COMICS::HALFACREE (Nothing is as it seems....) Thu May 22 1997 13:19

    Hi,

    I have a customer who is still running v1.7a-2 which I know is old and
    he should be running v2 but could someone shed some light on what might
    be causing the following problem.

    There have been several occasions where users have sent mail to a local
    distribution list and the mail has failed with an error about 'One of
    the attributes is exceeding the maximum length allowed.'

    I've check the x488glog and mcslog and these are the errors reported :-

    x488glog

    Having found some information is some other notes I have suggested that
    the customer run x488gsend with the -x9 switch to give us more
    information but he is reluctant to run this. This is a busy system and
    as the problem is intermitent they don't what to fill there system up
    with the trace logfiles that get created.

    Could someone let me know what they think is causing the problem and
    whether by upgrading it will fix it ???

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike
