1352.0. "localSMTPAddresses destructs MailWorks ?" by UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT (Think before you shrink) Thu Feb 20 1997 09:32

    Hello,

To gain performance, a customer running 2.0.2
set localSMTPAddresses (axp.tno.nl) in mailworksrc to
    keep local mail within MailWorks.

Within a few hours MailWorks was completely unavailable.
Swapspace grew up to 32.000 pages, where is used to be 6000-7000
pages. Users where unable to connect (all TeamLinks clients).

Restarting MailWorks resulted in the same problem after a short time.

After removing localSMTPAddresses MailWorks behaved normal again.
Number of users is about 100.

What can cause this trouble ?

    Thanks,

    Jan

    Hi,

Problem had nothing to do with localSMTPAddresses,
but was caused by an incoming sendmail message.

In inetgrecvlog two recurring errors occured almost every second...

This resulted in a fully unusable MailWorks system.

Cleaning up the sendmail queue fixed the problem.

Cheers,
