110.0. "Site in Durham" by IRNBRU::61549::Spike (Welcome to the Rimmer Experience) Wed Apr 30 1997 14:02
Well that the second weekend away for this year complete. This time at
the Grange Caravan Park just north of Durham only a few hundred mtrs
from the M1. The site is mainly level and pretty basic by today
standards. One large clean and heated toilet block, a small kids play
area aimed at the under 9s and a few sweets and tins of beans in the
booking in office.
If you are looking for a tidy site to park up while travelling or
simply a base for looking at the area then the site is fine but it's
not the sort of place to spend a week sitting in. All IMHO of course!
One thing it did have which we where very glad of over the weekend was
16 amp hook ups. Friday and Saturday where freezing with a stiff wind
coming down from the North that made your teeth chatter. The electric
heater was left on 2kw none stop.
This was a local gathering of the Conway Owners club rather than a
National but we still had 14 units turn up. Great fun as ever. Next
trip two weeks time to Musselburgh.
Rgds, Steve.
PS. Anyone else been away????????????????
