825.0. "Questions about TeamRoute Template Designer" by GIDDAY::JOYCE (Andy Joyce - Digital CSC Sydney) Wed May 28 1997 06:40

    Folks,

One of our customers has sprung a few questions about TeamRoute
on us! It's a VERY low volume product over here in Oz (and
everywhere else by the number of recent notes in this conference)
so we don't have any ready answers. Can anyone help?

    1.	Apart from the sections in the TeamLinks User Guide, is there
any other documentation on using the TeamRoute Template Designer?

    2.	Are there any add-on tools which extend the editing capabilities
of the Template Designer. I.e. to allow new fields to be inserted
between existing fields (rather than added to the end), to allow
more than one field per line, and to allow fields to be moved
    	around.

    3.	Is there any way to create a "Drop-down" list on a TeamRoute
    	Template?

    4.	Can data from other databases be accessed from a TeamRoute
form? I.e. could a delivery address be loaded from a database
into the form? Is this what the "Data File" button is supposed
    	to be for?

This customer is using TeamLinks V2.5, TeamRoute V2.5, ALL-IN-1 V3.2
    and TeamRoute for ALL-IN-1 V1.0-001.

    Thanks,
    Andy

        Hi Andy,

There is not much you can do for this customer, other than get him
up to a supported version of TeamRoute for ALL-IN-1 (v1.3a). I've
not found any shortcuts to designing templates, and I've never
been able to link them to another application (I don't know
whether it's possible). Designing your own templates is
definitely consulting and the customer should be charged
        accordingly.

'Fraid not...

By the way, that information is in the TeamLinks Client Administration Guide
in TeamLinks V2.7 (no more User's Guide), but it did not change. Just FYI.
