Has anybody heard of them??? Their new album is called Searchlight
and I was wondering where to buy it.

    C'mon you music critics....speak up!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone wants any info on Runrig (a band who have a tremendous following
in Scotland, and are gaining popularity in other parts of the UK, and
overseas) they can reach the fan club at:

Runrig fan club
55 Wellington Street
Aberdeen
AB2 1BX

Runrig have recorded 7 albums to date, and all of these are obtainable
through the fan club (some at a discount). Early Albums were predominately
in Gaelic, although recent albums have been mainly English with one or
two songs in Gaelic. Their latest album (Searchlight) entered the UK
album charts at no 11, which was remarkable considering 90% of the sales
were in Scotland! Although some songs are in Gaelic, this is far from
being a barrier to appreciate their music which is a variety of ballads,
rock, and traditional songs heavily influenced by the bands origins in
the outer Hebrides (pronouced heh-bir-dees).

Jen,

Don't know if you're ever in Cambridge, but if you are, try the Harvard Coop.
They have it all. I bet you could call them first, too.

987.5We can do a deal...POLAR::RUSHTONWed Jan 15 1992 14:016
I have tried Shanachie Records in Newton, NJ and Rego Records all to no
avail. Even Green Linnet doesn't carry them. However, I have a friend
here in Kanata who has copies of Searchlight and The Big Wheel, if you
    interested send me VAXmail.

    Diane,

Sorry for the delay, but I've just stopped laughing enough to be able
to reply! Me go to the Coop.....me go to CAMBRIDGE~~~~~ :^)

    HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

That would mean going into the CITY....BOSTON...ALONE....oh my gawd!

This just shows that you haven't REALLY gotten to know me.

I only go into BOSTON with

    A large crowd
    A large map
    A detailed street directory
    toll fare
    A compass
    A radar tracking system
    A map of the constallations
    Tracking dogs
    Change for phone calls
    Bail money
Packed survival kit (included estimated # of meals needed for duration)
    Sleeping bag
    and......
A color chart to identify the traffic signals

Ask any of my CELT pals...they'll tell you it is ALL TRUE!

All this shows is that you have no concept of geography. It's quite
easy, in fact desirable, to go to CAMBRIDGE without going into BOSTON.

Jen, you really crack me up! I am a total urbanite. I love the city, Boston,
Cambridge, and *even* (keVin take note) SOMERVILLE!

I can get around there with my eyes closed and even the muggers leave me alone.
If you ever need a guide you can call me! I use ANY EXCUSE to spend time in
the city.  I would even go out with some of you crazy CELTers!!  ;^}

I lived in Boston and environs for a long time. I still can't believe I moved
to NH. That's what marriage does to you!

Take care, I hope you find your music. Sounds like MAIL ORDER is *your* only
hope!

RE: .7 AHHHHH, Dennis, typical IRISH guy.....sees things from ONE
perspective...his own. You forget, I would be traveling from the
    South.

And to go from Rhode Island to Cambridge without passing thru some part
of Boston would show something worse than a lack of geographical
knowledge....it would should a totally lack of respect for the
'shortest distance between two points is a straight line'

And besides, Cambridge is the CITY....as soon as the cows give way to
    highrises....I'm in the city!
