828.0. "MOUNT VERIFICATION AND SELF OK SIGNAL" by MDR01::JAGOMEZ (MCS Madrid) Tue Apr 01 1997 11:57

CROSS POSTED IN HSZ40 AND ASK_SSAG NOTES

                Hi all,

we have a 'Mount verification in progress' problem with
several disk on two shared SCSI bus. This message appears
randomly in different units and recovers in 1-2 sec. In
the errorlog there are 'Self OK is not properly asserted'
messages related to each disk which goes to mount
verification. But the disks are raids distributed across
several shelves, and only one disk goes to mount
verification each time. The problem appears in both PKA
and PKB buses. This seems to eliminate a single point of
                failure (shelf, power supply, fan,...)

                Configuration: 2 x 8400 with KZPSA's and HSZ40 (v27z).
Two shared SCSI buses (two redundant HSZ's each)

Below there is an errorlog entry (it repeats for DKA1,
                DKA2, DKB0, DKB1 and DKB2) and the corresponding
                operator.log message

                Any help will be appreciated,

                Jose A. Gomez
