786.0. "Strange CFMENU behaviour with V3.0Z" by TMCUKA::ROWELL (Paul Rowell @BBP) Fri Feb 28 1997 12:57

    I'm running HSOF V3.0Z-0 on an HSZ40C and seeing weird things in
    CFMENU.

    I have 12 disks and once I define a "bunch" of Mirrors and StripeSets
    some of them aren't found on the polling phase and hence aren't
    available to configure.

    From the CLI the devices etc are all seen OK so I can finish off the
    config.

    Is everyone using SWCC these days and so no one has seens this problem?

    BTW I have also noticed that V3.0 is much slower in configuring than
    V2.7 as it seems to poll for unconfigured devices much more frequently
    eg if I say Delete all unbound devices from CFMENU they are deleted one
    by one with a poll in between each delete - this is so slow.

786.1You should have the patches!SSDEVO::RMCLEANFri Feb 28 1997 13:392
I would strongly recommend that you upgrade to V30z-2. This patch is REQUIRED
to run mirror sets.
786.2Thanks, and a suggestion...TMCUKA::ROWELLPaul Rowell @BBPMon Mar 03 1997 13:516
    Have upgraded to V3.0Z-2 and the problems are no longer there - thanks.

    Might I suggest that the V30Z.IMG in CSC32::ISG$COMMON:[HSZ40] is
    renamed to V30Z.IMG_USE_V30Z-2_INSTEAD or simply removed?

786.3SWCC is not doing too wellCIVPR1::SIMMONSMike Simmons (301) 918-5597Fri Mar 14 1997 02:144

According my own experience and other notes in this conference, I'd imagine
most people are still using the CLI or RAID Manager v1.1.
