768.0. "EMU...overtemperature" by GIDDAY::CALLAGHAN (If it works dont fix it) Wed Feb 12 1997 18:55

I have a site with SWXRC-05 raid controllers (in a CSS custom cabinet)
that is having the Environmental Monitor Unit (EMU) detecting an
    overtemperature condition.

I have had the customer measure the air temp outside the cabinet at 25C
and internally at 31C. This configuration is running in an open office
    environment.

My understanding is that the SWXRC controllers had an envoronmental
temp spec of +18C to +24C, and was intended for operaion in a Class A
    computer room environment.

My question is: At what temperature does the EMU activate its overtemp
    		    alarm?

Armed with this information I can then state to the customer the
internal temperature that the SWXCR is reaching, and then push back
onto them to address the problems of air cooling for this
    configuration.

    Thanks
    Patrick Callaghan
