Any idea if there are plans to qual the dat drives? My customer would love to
put a couple of TLZ09s behind his HSZs.
thanks,

| Tim,
The DAT drives are not supported on the HSZ array controllers. And
at this time, there is no forcast to support these drives.
It is more than just Qual, each tape type requires controller code to
support the formats and drives specific requirements. While a disk
drive has a chance of operating on most SCSI buses, a tape device
normally requires code changes. And each time a new member of a
tape drive is introduced, additional changes are required. So it would
take new code for the TLZ07, more new code for the TLZ7L, more new
code for the TLZ09 and then more new code for the TLZ9L...
Like Chris stated, if there is a need for this support, it should
be directed toward Product Management.
if you want to talk, just call.
