1223.0. "Max width for CLI terminal" by NETRIX::"rmh@uvo.dec.com" (Richard Hough) Thu Mar 20 1997 10:01

It the width for CLI terminal session hardcoded to 80 characters or can you
make the text wrap round to the next line.

If, for example, you try to create a RAIDSET for more than 8 members and you
use the device names generated by CONFIG you cannot enter the entire command
as there is no wraparound when 80 charcaters are reached. This is tru for both
a terminal connected directly onto the controller or for a DUP connection.
Also if you SET TERM/WIDTH=132 before setting host to the controller the same
is true. This happens on HSOF V5 as well.

If there any workaround for this or do you just have to truncate the disk
names until the command line is less tahn 80 characters ?

1223.1should not be a problem with the software it just donesn't wrapSSDEVO::RMCLEANThu Mar 20 1997 12:043
Actually the input string length is 240. You should be able to set
your terminal manually (most terminals permit this) to 132 and most
things will fit.

Or set your terminal to autowrap and simply keep typing when the text wraps onto
the next line.

Thanks for the replies.
I can get this work O.K. with a terminal in the console port. How do you make
it work for a DUP link ? The command is truncated at 80 characters. (BTW -
CFMENU works O.K. in 132 mode on the DUP connection).
