986.0. "K.scsi installation questions" by KAOFS::E_BELANGER (Canadian Remote Diagnostic Center) Fri Apr 11 1997 13:23

A customer is trying to install a k.scsi in a HSC70.

Config: HSC70
	BA350
	RZ28-VA's

1) Where the SCSI TRANSITION CABLE 54-22877-01 should be install on the
hsc backplane? Does anyone have a drawing or could someone provide the
   position of the connector?

2) The cust ran Ksutil to configure the drives then he connect the drive
to the single ended connector but cannot see the drives. He still see the
   path mode to differential.

	- Please confirm that the single-ended/differential selection is made
by connecting the cable to the proper connector. Is there something
	  else to do?

Thanks,

Eric

1A/ the 54-2877-01 is not a cable. It is the TCB that plugs into the backplane
within the black plastic guides. The TCB provides either diff/single
termination for the beginning of the buss.

2A/ If you have not plugged in the TCB how can you be looking at drives at the
end of the cable? If you have a 68 pin cable from the bulkhead it must go to a
DWZZA in the BA350. If you hook up the right cables the controller does not
care what the termination is. Basically you have me confused. Could you
please define your setup better for me.
