We already have that port done by the "Open Group Research Institute", which will NOT run on DEC MLS+, since the executable format is too new. Apperently DEC MLS+ is in the OSF1 v2.0 format. Also is there a port of Java to DEC MLS+ v4.0? BTW, I took that OSF1 3.2 port and tried to report it to DEC MLS+ 3.1 and it works 95% od the time! Hi Chris,
Looking at the JAVA notesfile, it doesn't seem as though a port was
done until last summer, which means that no, I don't believe there
is a Java for OSF V2.0 (MLS+ V3.1A kernel is based on OSF V3.2B,
the libraries, etc., are OSF V2.0, with some selected backported
fixes sprinkled about.) I can post an inquiry if you need it.
I haven't checked the following for accuracy of location, but can pull
the stuff if you cannot.
In purusing other topics discussing Java on OSF, there was some mention
that Netscape in the JDK did not work on OSF V4.0A (if I read it
correctly). MLS+ V4.0A is based on OSF (DIGITAL UNIX) V4.0A, with some
fixes backported from V4.0B, of which I believe one is the Netscape
fix. (At least there are people here running the latest Netscape on
their MLS+ V4.0A boxes.)

OSF is now releasing JDK 1.0.2 for 7 platforms
including Digital UNIX on Alpha Station.
OSF also announces a Java test suite to be available in August.
