138.0. "Hat pin?? Reunion 1880" by SUBPAC::TRIMBY () Thu May 30 1996 19:59

      I was handed down a hat pin? from my GGgrandfather. I believe it
 was worn on the hat. It is two rifles in a X pattern with the number 3
 above it. He was in the 113th ohio volunteer army. I was wondering what
 the 3 above the crossed rifles mean.

      I also have a ribbon that is marked 1880 Ohio civil war reunion. It
 states the township on it as well. Was wondering if there is a listing of
 reunions for Civil War veterans. Maybe if I'm lucky I could trace it down
 and find a picture? Any help here would be appreciated.

      Thanks, Gary

	The '3' above the crossed rifle could mean he was in the 3rd Army
	Corps. The crossed rifles signified infantry. Sabres stood for
	Cavalry and Cannon for Artillery.
