| Check out topic 856 to get a clear explanation about the SCSI cables.
A BN21H has two straight high density 50-pin connectors. A BN21N has one straight
high density 50-pin connector, and one right-angled high density 68-pin connector.
If you need an example, we recently set up a two node cluster which - disk storage
wise - was configured as follows (N.B. this is a European config using metric
cabinets):
4 * KZPSA-BB = PCI one port FWD SCSI controller
4 * BN21W-0B = SCSI Y-cable, 68-pin, 2 female and 1 male connector
4 * H879-AA = external SCSI 68-pin, male 8-bit or 16-bit differential terminator
4 * BN21K-03 = 3-meter 16-bit SCSI cable (external)
2 * BA350-MB = StorageWorks controller shelves or HSZ50 - metric mounting kit
2 * HSZ50-AF = HSZ50
2 * H885-AA = SCSI tri-link connector, 68-pin, 2 female and 1 male connector
6 * BN21H-02 = high density 50-pins SCSI cable (connects HSZ50 to BA356)
6 * BA36R-JA = controller shelf kit (includes BA356 16-bit StorageWorks shelf)
6 * BA35X-MG = 8-bit I/O module for the BA356 shelf to run 8- or 16-bit devices
with 8-bit host controllers/adapters
21 * RZ29B-VW = 4.3 GB wide disks
add the power supplies, power cords, non-shared disk storage, tapes, cabinets, etc.
Hope this helps.
