1874.0. "Unable to write into NFS_Service filesystem..." by WONDER::BENTO (I've got TV but I want T-Rex...) Tue Feb 11 1997 22:13

        I am trying to create a number of NFS services in the following
        config.;

        4) As8400's running DUNIX 4.0b and ASE 1.4
    	1) SW800 with (4) HSZ40's running V3.0 HSOF with (6) 16Gb
    	   striped mirrorsets. Each filesystem is ADVfs.

    	I am able to create the NFS-Service for each of the above
    	and mount up the local ASE mount as well as export the
    	service to other systems within the above clump.

    	I am unable though, to write into any of the imported filesystems.

    	If I try to create a file on a imported NFS_Service it will fail.
    		EX:  cd /scratch1
    		     touch foo
    		     touch: foo cannot create

    	If I go to the system exporting the NFS_Service it works fine.
    		EX:  cd /usr/var/ase/mnt/c1-scrtch/scratch1
    		     touch foo
    			creates file "foo"

    	All NFS_Services are exported with "rw" .
    	All /etc/fstab entries for imported filesystems are mounted "rw" .

    	I'd appreciate any ideas on what to look at.
    	Regards,
    	-Tony

1874.1I'll answer my own note!WONDER::BENTOI've got TV but I want T-Rex...Tue Feb 11 1997 23:023
    	I forgot to add "-root=0" in the export list of each NFS_service.

1874.2yup, had to do it here too!SUBSYS::MSOUCYMentalmETALMikeThu May 08 1997 16:126

    I was just going to mention that because I had to do it down here in my
    lowly 2 node Sable configuration running KZPBA-DB adapters, F20 DOC and
    UltraSCSI disks....doing some NFS testing per a qual plan.
