| Hi,
This note to annouce the new version of "mount_service" and the birth
of "umount_service".
1) mount_service version 2 is now handling correctly the NONE mount
point and provide more explicit error messages.
2) mount_service is now offering an option "-n". It still allows LSM
and ADVFS setup to be done automatically, but prevents the automatic
mounting of the filesystems. Instead, the standard output is displaying
for each filesystem the device, mount point, fstype and options as they
are set in the DECsafe database. You can thus mount the filesystems your
own way.
3) umount_service is now provided to dis-mount the filesystems (even if
you mounted them your own way), remove the ADVFS setup in /etc/fdmns
and stop the LSM volumes, deport the diskgroup and place the LSM disks
offline. The "service" can now be started by "asemgr -s service" with
all the LSM/ADVFS/FS items in their original state.
You can get a copy of these tools a anonymous ftp to fscr44.bro.dec.com
(16.183.0.133). Be carrefull that an older version of mount_service is
placed somewhere in the examples of XIRTLU.
Best regards, Manu.
