1410.0. "Confused of Geneva: modify config, obbmdcfg" by LEMAN::DONALDSON (Froggisattva! Froggisattva!) Fri May 23 1997 15:19

I'm a bit confused about what is possible with "modify config".

The doc on W95 shows a fairly minimal set. However 'view' config
with the System Administrator and you find "hash table" and
"keep DB files". Cant seem to do anything with them.

(Also, please note that pushing the help button closes the window!).
(Also, the scrollable text area view of the config is not very 'nice').

On VMS I have a number of "mod config" switches:
      /AUTHENTICATION / /DCE_ATTRIBUTES
      /NETWORK_PROVIDER /EVENT_LOGGING /REPOSITORY_CACHE
      /MAX_ACTIVE_SERVERS /AUTO_START

some of which seem to work and some not.

And some, like /AUTO_START which I'd like to see on other
platforms like NT. Is there a version of the obbmdcfg command
which can specify auto-starts?

What's the *real* story?

First I would suggest that you stick to the command line and not use
the GUI. New commands have not been added to the GUIs in some time, so
the most up to date features are only in the command line. The current
GUIs are being de-emphasized in the product.
